Thanks, MifuneFan, as I said, I'm kinda out of it right now. Your point makes sense. I misread her use of ">". The whole issue would be much clearer for folks who have only seen the ad if someone would post a picture of the new release. That picture next to the nice pictures of the Anthology which blu-ray_girl_fan posted would be clearer than saying "Individual Cases > Stacked Discs"; or even using "vs." instead of ">".
Anyway, sorry for my mixed up confusion, maybe someone who buys the new set will post a picture of one for folks on the fence. Me, I'm going back to bed, I'm due for a root canal as soon as the swelling goes down.

The OP does include a picture of the stacked discs.

[Show spoiler]
So now we have Warner and Disney using stacked cases. Anything to pinch a penny.

Is it them or Elite though? Elite could very easily make a 4 disc case that's standard blu-ray size, but for whatever reason they're not.

If Disney or Warner asked for such a case, Elite would provide one.

Disney had been using the slightly thicker four disc cases for years, then last year they switched to the stacked cases for four disc (and some three disc) releases. The only reason they did it was money.

Fry's has Batman Anthology, the one with the individual cases, on sale this week for $30 if it's worth the bit extra to you to splurge pm enhanced packaging without stacked discs.

I have already ordered the slightly thicker replacement cases. 4 discs, non-stacked.

The slip, nor cover art will fit that though right?

I was buying one anyway to replace one of my 3DBD's from Disney, so I just grabbed another one anyway. Its only aslightly thicker. Not like the difference between Uk and Us releases.

Im not entirely sure about how it will all end up, but for a few extra cent I may as well try.

And imo, the stacked releases are better than slim, flimsy, blu cases.
Blu-rays are much more scratch-resistant and durable than dvds, its annoying, but not a total deal breaker, though if it were up to me I would much rather have normal 4-disc cases. Doesnt seem like much to ask for.

I was tempted to get the TMNT set at Best Buy the other day, but didn't because I was hesitant as I already have these on DVD and am still figuring out if it's worth a double-dip...

Try to avoid this due to the stacked discs.

Stacked discs don't bother me nearly as much on Blu-ray, due to the fact that Blu-ray Discs are extremely resilient and don't scratch easily at all unless you're trying to break them. It's when the DVDs are stacked in the cases... that's when I get pissed.

Read through some of the threads for Disney Blu-ray releases that have had stacked discs, and you won't be quite as confident in the scratch resistant coating of Blu-rays. They're much better than DVDs, but when they're sitting on top of another disc and turning on it, it they don't always hold up like you'd hope they will.

So are these 4-Film Favorites in stores? I looked up the TMNT, Batman, and Thriller (V for Vendetta, Constantine, etc.) packs on Best Buy's website, but they are all listed as not available for Store Pickup. Are they only available online? :\
Please read the thread.

Absolutely, it's a misconception. It depends on contact, looseness, etc., but rubbing together can produce a surface "blurring" which can distort the laser and cause problems. BDs are a bit better for "scratch damage", but they're not made to "sandpaper" each other. Buy new cases (I stock extra cases for 1 to 6 BDs, just in "case").

So I'm guessing it's one of those things that Best Buy has in the store, but doesn't post inventory of online? That's all I'm asking. I'm used to being able to look up a movie I might buy on Best Buy's website, and "Check Stores" to see which Best Buy locations near me have any inventory of said movie.
YMMV. Some stores got 'em, some don't. Call ahead.

And I don't mean I use the "Check Stores" button and see that the titles are unavailable in and around my location. I mean the button isn't even there. It only allows me to buy online, no store pickup. I do not have the option to check if it's in the stores around me, because it doesn't have the button at all. Bedazzled on Blu-ray is a similar situation, as I wasn't able to find the Check Stores button for that one either.
Is there some mass miscommunication here? I feel like my question is not nearly as stupid and easy to figure out as I feel you are making it out to be
Dude, what's the mystery? There's no guarantee : "some stores got 'em, some don't". Best Buy sucks these days, they're downsizing in-store stock. It's shoe-leather or the telephone, pardner, can't make it any clearer.

Your original question was if these are available in stores or if these are online only. That's been answered. Now you're adding more questions about what is or isn't a part of particular listings on Best Buy's website. Sometimes for some items, they don't have the option to check in store availability. Why? There could be a lot of reasons, but no one here will be able to definitively give you an answer on it.
