Does anyone know if this Blu-ray is regionally coded?

Regardless of region-coding, I would expect it to be 1080/50i, since the video is originating from Europe. Some of the Blu-rays from Duke are offered with a choice of PAL or NTSC DVDs like this one, with the NTSC edition labeled as "US version"), so they are obviously cognizant of the 60Hz customers, but I would assume that unless specified, all their Blu-rays are 1080/50i, and their DVDs PAL.
EDIT: I ordered it and will post the answer here if no one else does. Looks like a good set of films, so I ordered it along with the Le Mans 2012 review. Last edited by McCrutchy; 05-11-2013 at 05:34 AM. |

Thanks, I look forward to your post.
The videos were produced by NFL Films for Audi, so I doubt they would be 1080i50 by default. They are more likely 1080p24, but its hard to tell since all we have is DVDs and streaming to reference. I sent an email to Duke Video last week, and just received a response saying that it was PAL ![]() I bet even with you having to wait for the disc to be shipped, you'll still be able to provide conclusive info before their customer service can. If you haven't seen the films already, you are in for a treat! Edit: Just found out it is 1080p24 with a DD5.1 soundtrack: http://audi-motorsport-blog.blogspot...s-edition.html Images of the release there, but no info on regional coding apparent. ![]() My only concern is that Audi have definitely manufactured separate PAL and NTSC DVD versions of Truth in 24 II (Truth in 24 seems impossible to find on DVD now) so it's all down to how each film was encoded by whomever Audi enlisted to create the Blu-ray Disc. In any event, we will know for sure shortly. ![]() |

Truth In 24 II is available as a free HD download from iTunes, no need to buy the blu ray.
I also got the original Truth In 24 free when that came out but I can't remember where from... but it is available on YouTube so you could download it in 1080p from there. |

I got an email back from Duke saying that they didn't have any in stock at the moment, and wouldn't know until they got some on hand. It will be 1080p24, according to reviews, so that will be good. The only possible issue is that regional coding.
I have both on iTunes, but the Blu-ray will have a better picture. Plus, I want to get one for my Dad, who only has a Blu-ray player. |

Sorry for the delay.
![]() Confirmation: Both Truth in 24 (2008) and Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts (2012) are region-free with no PAL or 50Hz content. Each documentary comes on its own BD-25 disc. Each documentary is presented in English, with options for English, French, German, or Spanish audio narration. Please note that although the release advertises subtitles in these languages, they only appear when material may be difficult to understand (for English) and additionally during the interviews (for French, German and Spanish). The main narration is not subtitled in any language. Truth in 24 contains no extras, but Truth in 24 II contains some brief extended interview clips and the film's trailer. This is also a DigiBook release, with photos and text (in English only) relating to the race, comments from Audi drivers, and film credits. Last edited by McCrutchy; 06-12-2013 at 10:16 PM. |

I enjoyed both films, Josh, but I felt the second film, which is fifteen minutes shorter than the first, could have been even longer than it was. To me, the first film is slightly better rounded. The second documentary does present a noticeable improvement in picture quality, however.

I got my copy (actually bought two - one for my dad) last week and started watching the first film to make sure it worked in my PS3 - which it did! Thanks for that info!
I ended up not being able to turn it off. The film looks great and I love having it on disc. I hope they make a third one next season. |
