Australia Sleepless In Seattle - Lossless Audio

For those interested, (and although not stated on the cover) the local release of Sleepless in Seattle has Lossless DTS: HD-MA audio.

Edit: and it's multi-region. Take that Twilight Time!

And you're missing extras. Good luck with that.

Most people would gladly take Lossless audio over Special Features though.

$10 opposed to $37 with shipping, for that difference IMO screw the extras, and I'm sure many will have the same point of view. Besides I haven't watched any extras or commentaries in years. Too me all extras are is more time that you need to commit to a particular movie, where you lose time to watch other films or do other things. Blu-ray is all about P/AQ for me, and getting the best out of my HT gear, that's the most important, so if the TT release had better P/AQ then that would be a different matter.

Edit: Also, whether you care or not, the U.S TT version may not include the music video, therefore if that ends up being the case then technically it'll be missing extras as well, or worse, the TT version may not even include what you are mainly wanting, a commentary

I couldn't agree with you more on this. No interest in extras. I just want to watch great movies with the best possible PQ and AQ

And it does. It has everything...including the trailer and the isolated score.

WIN!

I wouldn't call it a win, particularly to those who don't care about the isolated score or commentary, which would be most, and since it doesn't include any other additional features to what we have other than the trailer, it's not worth TT's asking price for many. Like I mentioned in my previous post, it costs $10 here whereas it's costing you $35 with shipping from TT, therefore comparatively you are paying $10 for the film and an extra $25 just for an isolated score/commentary, which is more than double the cost of the film.

It is an absolute win.

We have no $10 option in the US. I'm not sure how much it would be to import with shipping.

That said, as someone who has 400+ movie soundtracks, I regularly buy releases from Lalaland, Intrada and others. Single disc releases are ALWAYS $20 and double are usually $25-30.

Therefore, as someone who loves both movie soundtracks and extras, this is a no-brainer.

For those who just care about the movie, have at it.

You're only one person, and although it might be a win for you, like I previously mentioned it's not for a lot of other people, for the price in comparison. You were quick come into this thread as the 2nd poster, to sneer at the OP's comment unnecessarily, stating "And you are missing extras. Good luck with that. ", implying why would anyone want to buy the Australian version, when all the OP was doing was simply informing others about the Australian version who might be interested. Not very productive, wouldn't you agree? If you aren't interested in purchasing this version and want to spend more than double on TT's version for your own reasons then that's good for you, but why did you need make an appearance in this thread in the manner that you did, what was the point or purpose of you doing that? Particularly when at the time no information had been released about the extras included with TT's version, you were just assuming. Honestly, your comment in this thread and your "TT wins again" comment in the U.S thread, just makes you come across as a TT fanboy, who will support them no matter what. Instead, you could have made a more informative comment about how it was a possibility that TT's version may include more special features (I'm sure some would have appreciated knowing that) rather than just labelling the Australian version as a poor release . Btw, it's still half the price of TT's release with shipping if you were to import it .

So what's different feature wise, besides the IST, between the two releases?

Hmm, so the TT release has all the exclusives. I wonder why Sony did that.

They probably said "You can have the extras, but not the lossless audio "

Nope. TT has lossless audio as well. Their video encodes also seem to be of higher quality.

What does that matter? I don't care where a disc was produced. I'll always import it, regardless of location or $$. If Taiwan has a better audio codec or encode or more extras, that's where will get my money.

If you'd like to accept something just because it's cheap and easily accessibly, that's fine.

You see this is the type of attitude I was referring to in my 'reason for editing' comment in an above post. I was right, you clearly are a TT fanboy. You over exaggerate. Out of the handful of titles that have been released by TT exclusively in U.S where they have also had international releases, the PQ has been a small fraction better of only a few, however other than Philadelphia the audio quality of those international Sony releases were slightly better than the TT release. You're good at assuming things. How do you know what Supernaut (or others) is or isn't willing to accept. Supernaut owns 4-5 times more blu-ray's than you do and he has far more imports than your 2 dozen. Obviously quality means something to him, and he is willing to spend more money than you to get it. If this is all your comments are going to amount to in this thread, where you have got nothing to contribute, then you should do yourself a favor and piss off out of this thread right now and don't come back, otherwise you'll be involved in a verbal war that will get quite heated. Your choice.
