I checked BB first, but their site still says Store Pickup: Not Available, and the price is $44.99. I think if they decide not to stock it on launch day it's going to remain an online-only item for them.

Barnes and Noble has at least one store in my area showing "In Stock." Their price is $37.52 though.

Don't be shocked but Barnes In Store price is usually different than their online price. I would almost bet retail priced. Unless you have the discount card and Barnes issues a coupon before the weekend could be a decent price.

I just watched it and was thrilled with the audio quality. I wish WB would also reissue Bullitt on BLU with a dts HD MA 5.1 track.

I saw the Chinese/Mandarin language version of this back in 1975. It included the scenes that were "restored" to the English version in the 25th anniversary edition. It was really great back then to see something new that was intended for Chinese audiences, but Id really prefer the version I watch 25+ times in the theaters.

If anyone wants to pick up an extra copy for me I'll be happy to trade several titles including UK steelbooks for it. Please just look at my trade thread!

Yeah the site has been acting weird lately at BB because when they had the box sets on sale like Hitchcock, Mad Max, Mel Brooks, etc, they weren't showing up as in stock and were only available for delivery. Yet when you go into the store they are just sitting on the shelves.

Looks like BB is an online only sku. Fye and Target didn't get any shipments in. So the best bet instore right now is if your lucky Walmart or Barnes and Noble. Frys.com has the cheapest price online though.

Anyone who wants a copy of the 2007 Blu (with the "Warrior's Journey" doc), can still pick one up at a relatively decent price on Amazon. There's a couple of copies going for about $15:

http://www.amazon.com/Enter-Dragon-B...ter+the+dragon

Oddly, the 2010 re-release is going for a considerable amount more, which I find strange considering it's the exact same disc as the 2007 version, but missing "A Warrior's Journey" doc (for some reason, Amazon has the 2010 re-release labeled as 2007 ):

http://www.amazon.com/Enter-Dragon-B...the+dragon+blu

Anyway, so as to not create any confusion. Here are the official UPC labels of the two previous releases:

2007: 085391132653

2010: 883929133741 (exact same disc as 2007, less "Warrior's Journey)

After looking at the official review screencaps I personally think the new transfer looks better then the older one. It's nice to finally have a HD release of the film without jaggies. I need to pick this new release up at some point but I think I'll wait for the price to drop a little bit first.

If folks just want A Warrior's Journey on its own, then the DVD (which has exclusive extras) can be bought for $15 from here: http://www.amazon.com/Bruce-Lee-A-Wa.../dp/B00005UF83

The Bruce Lee Legacy Collection box set which is scheduled to come out Aug. 6th would compliment this release nicely for me, but I'm not sure I need all the DVD copies (11 discs total). Blu-ray.com is showing a July 9th release date on the detail page, but their release calendar shows Aug. 6th which is what Amazon is showing.

If I don't have any of those movies yet (The Big Boss, Fist Of Fury, Way Of The Dragon and Game Of Death) - is that the set to buy when it comes out?

Both the 2-Disc DVD and the first release on BD included the 100-minute documentary "A Warrior's Journey", on the life of Bruce Lee, which most reviewers and buyers regarded as the best feature in a very good and generous supplemental section.

It was later discarded on the BD re-release and it's also missing here.

I believe 7/9 is the release date for all those that order, directly, from SF. The wide release will occur on 8/6.

That's the missing piece. I had no idea SF was doing that, but they're asking top dollar to get it that early. Do they have a coupon or something that brings it down to Amazon rates?

Here's a weird thing... I have the first version... 2007 and I wanted to do a quick PQ comparison on my own. This earlier BD will NOT play in either PS3 I have (earlier fat 60g or the newer 320 slim. It also will not play in either Samsung BluRay players I have and on one player it comes up as an unreadable data disc. On the PS3's, one was updated, one was not but neither PS would even bring up an icon on screen and both just wanted to spit it out. The 2010 Samsung player did in fact eject it saying disc cannot be played. Kinda makes me wonder what other discs I might have that will not play any more!

I own the 2010 re-press and it plays fine. I just wondered if his copy is of a very old batch of the earliest blurays that came out. DVD rot was a common problem with old DVDs and people keep reporting now that even Blurays may suffer the same fate. Depressing.
