Why not the third film? It has its fans too so why not cash in on the brand name further?

It's sad really. If you ask me, Poltergeist II is slightly better than the first and III is an abomination.

It's fans are few and far between when compared to those of the first two films. I imagine, though, that it'll be on MGM's block this year, along with Jeepers Creepers 2 and Pumpkinhead (just to guess).

Watched Deadly Blessing today and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The ending had a nice twist. Don't have time to watch Lifeforce so I guess I'll have deal with my anticipation over the weekend.

Ikr. They are getting pretty cocky. Any other label would die to have Poltergeist III or Psycho IV, and the fans would LOVE to buy them....

Win. Win. But I don't get some of their moves lately...
I love what they are doing though, but just because they don't like a movie, shouldn't prevent them from releasing it.

Lifeforce is great (once you get past the first 15 minutes). After that, it is just a total WTF-fest. Just allow yourself to sit through it and have fun.

Poltergeist III actually had a different ending before Heather O'Rourke died. Apparently re-shoots were done after her death, but there have been denials of this by the director, even though there are facts to the contrary. Probably since no one involved in the film would probably be involved with extras, Scream doesn't want it. Here is a page with the original Poltergeist III ending. http://www.poltergeistiii.com/originalending.html

It still couldn't have saved the movie from being awful. To me.

I agree, the should've stopped with the first film, but I think like the first film there are just too many outside political factors that'll keep this one bare bones if it ever does make it to blu ray.

Well it is on Blu-ray ,just not in the US...are any of the Poltergeist III's region free? For the completest in me I might want to get it...I've seen worse.

It's just that why not utilize those two sequels to make more money? Hell, with the former, Bates Motel is getting a great reception like Bryan Fuller's Hannibal great.

Please do. I flat-out said that I didn't care too much for POD. The Funhouse wasn't too special either. I have a feeling that you're talking about The Island and the Scanners sequels, though.

Happens more often than you'd think.

That is also Criterion and a very few films in comparison to the thousands US/Canadian 1960's through the 2000's from low budget to major Sci-Fi Action Horror Thriller or Comedy films that I or my family have seen and know of that get better editions in other regions.

I like Poltergeist III; I don't understand all the hate. It's different but kind of awesome in it's own way. The urban skyscaper enviornment is fun.

I'm pretty sure all of them are region free since all of the releases are through Fox. However, the German version is region free for sure.

Agreed. I'm convinced my irrational fear of mirrors is due to seeing this on TBS at a very young age.
