The newer 5 disc set also seems to be OOP too. Think a new set may be on the way although could be as much 'hope'

My local HMV gets a couple of the 8 disc sets appear on the shelves every now and then. Picked one up a couple weekends back for £20-something, can't remember exactly. They also have stacks of the 5 disc set for slightly cheaper too.

Does anyone know if all the bonus features from this set have been transfered over to the 8-disc blu-ray set?

I think most of if not all the stuff is there but I'm not 100%. The BD has new stuff including Superman returning to Krypton in Superman Returns. Plus a couple of hours of HD documentaries.

I was really dissapointed with Man of Steel. It could have been so much better but the lack of humour and an action heavy second half spoilt it. After you've seen someone get thrown through a building for the 10th time it does start to get a little boring. It was a 6/10 film that could have easily been a 9/10 with a little less action and more humour and character development.

I laughed like 5 or 6 times that is in line with a modern serious blockbuster for me.

Films don't have to be juvenile to have humour. Batman Begins had its funny parts as well as being serious. So did 300 and Watchmen. Man of Steel needed it badly.

Jimmy Olsen should have been in it too as a young intern. He would have added a bit of humour in there.

There is a reason its getting pretty poor reviews. Some people love it and think it did everything perfect. Some people think it was good but would have been so easy to make better and others hated it.

Outside of the Joker, all the humor in Nolan's Batman films fell completely flat. I'm glad they left out stupid one liners.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that.

To be honest, I watched Batman Begins at the weekend and there are one or two in there...e.g. Gary Oldman's "I gotta get me one of those" (said when seeing the Tumbler for the first time)

When Alfred picks up Brice in Tibet (?), he says he can borrow the Rolls as long as he remembers to fill it up afterwards. Wayne also asks if the Tumbler comes in black. It's pretty free of one-liners but it does have humour.

No it doesn't.

Two of the most common criticisms of the film is that there is no humour in the film and that the ending is too overblown.

No he's not. Jimmy Olsen is not featured in the credits at all.
