ok guys (using PS3 ) i've just played a few matches & the way it works is tha 1 match counts as a day. Your group either grows or shrinks if you don't play well because it determines how much food you earn via coverted 'parts'.

I personally recommend you don't bother purchasing guns via the parts currency or anything else once you get more & more survivors. Headsets are a MUST! You can try to lone wolf, but will largely be unsuccessful. Flanking & watching each others backs are a must.

I've enjoyed playing but you really do want to be playing in a proper clan group of people to avoid total wipeouts & dominate. This MP is basically U2 on tactical steroids!. Also, i'd recommend you find your play style & choose load outs accordingly.

In Ireland!

Won’t be playing online for a while as only starting the game, but will jump in when I finish!

Warning – I’m not the best MP gamer! But hey, it’s the taking part that counts, right?!........... Right?

Could you include details of a microphone & time zone please. Also, i think most will be starting off with Fireflies due to the vote but those that have started as hunters, i hope they'll add you.

Good insight. I have played several hours of the MP, made it to 12 weeks with Fireflies. I love the tactical aspect of the game (especially survivor mode). Like NAMARK pointed, it is all about communication and good team.

I do not have a mic, and I played with randoms. The teams that like to play solo and run/gun, get put down quickly (it is frustating to play with those players). There are some players that understand the concept of team playing and flanking or holding the fort, it is by far funnier to play with them.

I hope within a week, the game mechanics will weed out the run/gun players (they always get overruned, so they will quit eventually) and it will be easier to find better players.

Thanks for pointing that out, i'll sort it when i get my laptop charger & get to update the OP.

Also, my internet sucketh, but i hold my own. It's just too damn difficult though once you get 50+ survivors. You really do need to be playing headset clan matches by then. Also, if you happen to get kicked from a match for poor connection, your clan becomes hungry, sick & few dead AND there is literally no easy way to recover. Takes a few great matches to just get everybody fed & few healthy.

Ok, so i've played a little more now & i have to completely change a point i made before. You do NOT lose any parts you've earned & 'spent' in the store. In fact, they are counted!. I recommend armour be your first port of call, followed by a long gun upgrade or the one you use most.

The semi-auto imo has the best balance of rate of fire to damage with a silencer on. Not fond of the burst rifle yet but not unlocked the silenced version. 9mm is only silenced handgun with a large clip & is '2 points' to select. Only good if you're trying to stay stealthy & hidden. Softening up armoured foes via long gun then switching by right d-pad tap to kill or vice versa recommend.

I'm going to try a silenced shorty but you gotta be close for maximum damage. Molotovs & bombs can be assets but use wisely. 'Explosive expert' perk will help increase blast radius 25% & only costs 1 point.

Again, i find performance is significantly higher in groups of headset users & that usually stick very close together as 4 but be careful with bombs & molotovs being thrown to hit you all. It's a double edged tactic.

For me the bow has turned out to be the best weapon. I had trouble with a lot of the earlier weapons, but switched to the bow and I was getting so many more kills. If you can master the headshot with the bow, it becomes quite deadly. I haven't really unlocked a lot of weapons though, so I've been using the "stealth" setup. I like the multiplayer, but it feels like there should be more modes. It gets stale pretty quick doing the same thing over and over. Probably more fun playing with other people.

I'll be playing tonight if anyone wants to get to together. I also have a mic.

I'm halfway through SP. Once I finish the game, I'll concentrate more on MP.

It just depends if I have time to play SP.

Online play is hard. I keep dying! I have 1 kill to like 20 deaths.

But after reading about MP for this game. It's not about just killing people.
