Wanted to know if the investment on the HK AVC disc was worth it.


Also HD, I noticed a little mistake on Aeon Flux listing. There isn't any "FR" disc that I know of here in France. I guess it's a typo

I would imagine the grain looks like grain instead of mushy noise. That's usually the difference in a MPEG-2 and AVC encode assuming the same master was used.

I removed the FR listing from Aeon Flux.

What does "EU" stand for? No reference for that in your abreviations list.

The french Studio Canal disc is the same as the AT Kinowelt disc (same company also).
AVC, BD50 , same audio specs too, and same extras!

AU is not the same as the AT / FR disc, 'though
It is from Universal with only dutch subtitles and English Audio. I'm not even sure if it's a BD50.

So it should be:

Universal Soldier

I had the chance to check the french disc since last time when we already talked about this listing which seems problematic, and now I can assure that AT and FR disc are identical.

The UK disc is probably the same as the US (as it's VC-1 and BD25)

The AU disc is totally different (different distributor, different language options etc)

Now we just wait to see what EU stands for, as I'm not aware of any other european release...

Also, I have both the US and the UK releases of City of God, clearly from the same master and while the UK release has the proper aspect ratio you should mention that it has some HORRIBLE compression issues when it comes to blacks/night scenes, there are some macro blocking issues in the nigh scenes for the US version, but on the UK is much worse.
