Amazons should be better but I've had more damaged ones from Amazon than Zavvi. Think I've had about 15 from Zavvi and they have all been perfect. Had to send about 5 or 6 back to Amazon.

Amazon Europe has a 'frustration-free SteelBook Packaging' box.
Zavvi uses a form-fit cardboard box (similar to Play.com) with a thin layer of foam. Recently, Future Shop has been shipping a custom form-fit SteelBook box that fits about 2-3 SteelBooks. All three are the top packages available for SteelBooks. |

Amazon in Europe uses boxes specifically designed for Steelbooks, but they do not use any padding inside. Plus you can get a refund or replacement from Amazon where from what people here had said is next to impossible from Zavvi.

Its not impossible with Zavvi but they make it difficult (asking for photos etc) and they take aaaaaages to sort it out a refund etc.

Talking about refunds, from my experience on lost items they'll refund an order without too much fuss if there was only one Steelbook in the order. However for two or more titles in an order they made me fill up some form and it took them a while (a couple of weeks after receiving the form in addition to the 30 days since the order was supposedly dispatched) to actually issue the refund. Yeah it is possible to get refunds but compared to Amazon UK which can issue refunds or replacements within a few minutes, Zavvi is terrible at this.

My debit card just expired and I've added a new one to my account on the zavvi site but obviously all my steelbook pre-orders were made with my old card. Has anyone had experience with this? Will they get declined or will they try and process it with my new card details?
I've messaged them on the site but they are being very vague and not very helpful. |

"Kieran" isn't very helpful at all, just uses templates to reply to emails. Saying I have to cancel and re-order..even though I've ordered stuff thats now sold out. "Holly" (I think it was Holly) replied saying the card will be declined but I should be given the opportunity to update my details. Will see what happens and if it goes tits up, I'll just leave the orders to be declined and Zavvi and boycott them forever and ever. In summary - Zavvi = Shite. |

I believe I read here somewhere that if you use paypal instead of your card you're more likely to secure a sold out product if you need to renew your card details.
As long as you renew your details on paypal. not 100% sure though but I'm in the same situation with Aladdin, all my other orders are on paypal. also, thanks, ManU that method looks promising I hope it works with sold outs. Last edited by Skog; 06-20-2013 at 06:51 PM. |
