Thumbs down Disney Blu-ray menu!!!

ive watched pirates and most recently encharted and i hate the popup menu or (so called popup menu) more like put your video in the corner like a cheap freeview box menu. there so much space wasted its a really bad design and pointless.

If this is a deciding factor in you buying movies, then set up everything you need from the main menu and don't bother with the pop-up menu.

He's talking about the Ratatouille/Pirates 3 fullscreen menus that hit when you press popup

I hate them myself. Popups should be unobtrusive

It surprised me, but didn't bother me THAT much...although considering the amount of information on the so called "pop-up" menu, it doesn't really make sense to take up 90% of the screen.

Disney calls them Total Menus and I can't stand the shi*. What really pisses me off is the first 2 Pirates discs have normal menus and then they put this crap on the third.

Disney Releases usually upset me based on content..... (like Pirates for instance..... I just think the movie would have actually been good if they didn't try to get a PG rating or whatever it got)

All 3 were PG-13

I fail to see how bloodletting, nudity or swearing would have improved any of them, given the style of movie they were making

I agree with that. I like blood & gore in movies just as much as the next guy but I thought the Pirates flicks were great as is, even for an older fella like myself.

As one also linguistic enough to translate Stay-in-School-Kids into English, I hate the new menus too (and can be glad only Disney is using them, as of their December titles)--
It took me about three disks until I realized that little teeny postage stamp in the corner of the menu screen was the movie...

(Guys, if you're going to wean us off fullscreen menu pages, we're not going to be happy if you bring them BACK.)

No Country for Old Men has the same screen-hogging pop-up menu style. The sad thing is there's not very much in the way of extras on that disc so it seems like an even bigger waste of space to reduce the movie to a itty bitty window.

The pop up menu design for Blu-ray titles like Close Encounters of the Third Kind is quite a bit better.
