It would be both great and a little sad if Criterion got ahold of Mulholland Drive.

Great because I'm sure it would be a spectacular release.

Sad because my poor wallet.

Well, maybe this is getting prepped for a late Holiday release?
I'm not sure how much better they'll improve upon the 2010 Studio Canal release. But I'm still interested in giving it a look.
Now, can they also hurry up and deliver a US version of Lost Highway? That's the one I'm getting oh so close to buckling under the pressure and buying the German edition.

My favorite movie of all time it's finally been announced Blu ray region 1 Criterion Edition haza. I have been waiting for this Blu ray since January, 15 2009, when I bought my first Blu-ray. Definite Day 1.

I was holding out on the import because I felt like Criterion was going to release this, and this will be more than suitable enough for me

They'll put a big C on the cover that'll magically make everything better
I hated this movie when I saw it years ago (I like Wild at Heart, Elephant Man, Eraserhead and Blue Velvet), but given the number of positive reviews perhaps I should give this another look.

Criterion tweets interesting little factoids like this all the time, this should not be taken as an announcement or even a tease.

I would assume that there will be a lot of extras on the Criterion disk, but on the Region 1 DVD the only extra is the trailer and some filmographies.

I sincerely hope there are a lot of extras. This is one film that warrants a good set of special features. Even if it's just filmmakers and critics discussing their thoughts on the film, it'd be interesting. David Lynch himself probably won't add anything of value.

Well, I'm sure that both Mulholland and Eraserhead will be announced the same month.

Honestly, I agree. I felt a good chunk of the tangents the film went on would have served more of a purpose had the original plan (of this project being done as a TV series rather than a film) gone through, and I thought the film took a downturn in the final act.

With that said, that WAS my first David Lynch film, and having seen more of his work since then, I'm willing to give it a second chance.

I still put Drunken Angel in every other prediction list because they posted a photo of a film can and that was over two (or maybe even three) years ago.

The frenzy caused by the pic of the Spinal Tap guitar pic was pretty funny.

That's not to say this isn't a hint but yeah, it could just be something cool they stumbled across in the office.

Agreed. Thank you for being the voice of reason.

Don't take a Tumblr re-blog as news. You only have confirmation if it was a newsletter hint, Janus themselves announced it or it was suddenly out of the blue put into a month. Until then, it's just reporting wild speculation.

This is as bad as taking the Rossellini/Bergman clue and turning it into The Life Aquatic blu upgrade. Man, really just not on the ball lately with what counts as news.

It seems like something he would send to a projectionist at a theater. Like when Terrence Malick sent out instructions for Tree of Life. Looks like theres more stuff written on the back.
