I suspect it's because a good number of people believe that comedies don't need to look particularly good and that their existing DVD's are good enough. I'll be definitely picking up The Producers, though.

Ravenous would be most welcome, it's a great film. And as Cliff said, the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.

It does make some amount of sense, though. The logical titles for Blu-Ray, IMO, would be action, fantasy, horror, and sci-fi, since those would likely be the ones that would be easiest to convince the masses are worthy of an HD upgrade.

I love all genres of movies, but I only collect horror on blu ray because it's my favorite genre and I only have enough funds to collect one genre. Also, horror titles historically have been a lot harder to find than comedies too. So I feel the need to buy as much horror stuff as I can afford.

cmac, I see people asking about it already, but I would really love to know if there are in fact any kind of plans or possibility to do RAVENOUS? One of my all-time favorite horror films that just never seems to get any kind of recognition at all.

Thank you

Hey Cliff - I just started getting your scream factory releases - im dying to know have you seen the Fog transfer yet or can you tell us anything about it ? Im really hoping its better than the rubbish UK version ? I did read that its been approved by Dean Cundey aswell ? Its one of my all time favourite horror movies too - I even bought a region free Blu-ray machine because your releases are region A locked and I only had a Region B machine before

That's strange. Do you mean 80's comedies? I don't go to Best Buy much these days but when I do wander into one all I see are tons of copies of movies like Hangover and Pineapple Express - very disposable, watch-only-once stuff. It's sad to think Valley Girl will never make it to Blu-ray.

+1 on RAVENOUS. Plus I agree that the film feels like it was made in the late 80's. Great movie.

Well....I just purchased THEY LIVE and SWAMP THING. I already had Halloween 2 and with the list of future releases, I know for sure I will be buying PRINCE OF DARKNESS day one. Debating on NIGHT OF THE COMET.

I appreciate someone actually caring so much about bringing these films to us.

My copy of 'The Howling' arrived today from Amazon.ca. It was only dispatched on the 18th, so two days from Canada to UK - fantastic service!

I have the following on pre-order from them...

Q: The Winged Serpent
Dark Angel
The Hot Spot/Killing Me Softly
Roadie

...and may well place orders for Prince of Darkness & Psycho II/III when they're available and depending on price of course.

I pre-ordered The Producers and Kentucky Fried Movie both, but generally... I've double dipped the least when it comes to upgrading comedies on DVD-to-Blu-ray.

I'm Canadian and my copy of THE HOWLING was also dispatched from amazon.ca on the 18th but I don't have it yet. Trouble is, I'm in Winnipeg and the amazon warehouse is near Toronto. People in Toronto don't know where Winnipeg is .

However, UPS does list it as "Out for Delivery".

I can believe it. Comedies represent a very small portion of my collection. I will be buying The Kentucky Fried Movie however. I hope someday Amazon Women on the Moon makes its way to Blu-ray, but I'm not holding my breath.

Roadie is a comedy too. And it sucks balls when compared to cult classics such as The Sure Thing, Kingpin or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

They at least need to consider releasing above mentioned titles on Blu.

Shout! already made some exceptions as they released Kentucky but also The Producers... I guess Cliff didn't mean "no comedies at all"...

I supervised the transfer along with Dean Cundey.
I think it looks fantastic.
