Is it a coincidence that threads for two of the three titles Mediumrare Entertainment have released/are releasing are right next to each other?

Anyway, I'm a fan of Jackie Chan, but I'm not too familiar with this movie. I may well pick it up for that price

With postage, the region free US release is £6.91 and available now from Amazon UK. I'm thinking is it worth spending nearly twice the price for the UK version. Especially if it uses the same transfer, and also has no special features

If the runtime is anything to go by, the UK disc looks to have the Hong Kong cut... but is most likely going to be a Fortune Star upscale. While the budget US blu-ray is true HD, it's also cut and with only an English dub track.

As far as I remember this was rated PG when it came out in UK cinemas and the VHS was only rated 15 because of the Dollman trailer on it which contained the F-word.

It's unreal that the BD would be rated 15 too. There's NOTHING in this film that should be more than a 12.

Cantonese Cinema version: 'PG' uncut (Scenepalm; Feb 1992).
English Dubbed VHS: '15' uncut (Entertainment in Video; Mar 1992).
English Dubbed DVD: '15' uncut (Firefly Entertainment; Jul 2012)

All versions uncut (the Miramaxe cut hasn't been released here... yet).

I don't know why the BBFC upgraded the rating between cinema and VHS within a month but it's nothing to do with any trailer (trailers are submitted separately).

I have the HK Blu-ray and I wanted to know if this will be a new transfer or the same HK master?

The copy I have has English sub titles and Cantonese 7.1 DTS Master Audio

Yes hopefully this is not the edited Miramax cut. If it is the uncut film then both the cantonese and International english dub can be included. I hope it is region free, because the US is stuck with the Miramax version.

Will only buy this film if its the full version. The UK dvd i have is the 107 min version but the PQ is terrible. Shame as its a great film.

I wish Hong Kong Legends was still around - they would show Jackie's movies the love they deserve for the UK.
