The same can be said for you, that people can't differentiate that this is a new take on the superman character, and aren't able to see that some of the flaws are not flaws, but different expectations of a character.

Are you intentionally TRYING to misunderstand me? I haven't watched the previous Superman films in years and don't care about them at all. The flaws present in this film have nothing to do with it being a reboot or anything. I actually LIKED the direction the character was developed in, but the execution was poor.

The movie HAD its flaws but there's a difference between noticing them and flying them in people's faces again and again. Every movie has its flaws but to go into a thread about a movie that a lot of people enjoyed and loved and dog that movie again and again, I've never understood why people do that. Only two guesses, they either really want attention or they like to rile people up or both. I try to ignore the people who slam movies I enjoy because almost nothing positive comes out of clashing horns with people who have nothing good to say about the topic of discussion.

Oh stop playing the victim. I see the flaws in this film. The at times questionable cgi. The hand held camera. The zooms. The lay out and flash backs don't always mesh. Those are all flaws I feel the film has. Some payoffs aren't fully earned etc. Guess what. I still enjoyed the hell out of it. I was entertained.

When I went to go see Man of Steel, I went into the theater with only one aprehension; the suit (but I got over it). I was not looking for flaws, mistakes, or plot holes. I knew it was a summer blockbuster movie and I know it will not garner any Academy Awards. Instead, I went in to be thrilled and Man of Steel delivered so much that I went to see it a second time and there will be third time. And not once did I consult a paid critic's review to help me decide whether to see the movie or not, but; this thread is way more entertaining now.

You REALLY need to visit the STAR WARS threads.

It's just ironic some of the folks getting upset with those who don't like MOS have driven out the people who like the SW Prequels and Special Editions. Needless to say it's hipocrasy at its finest.

Again i think its a good film and a very good comic film but the camera work wasn't very good. Shaky cams are fine for action every now and then but even standing around scenes were bopping up and down. Very distracting.

i'll point out again how impressed I was with Kevin Costner. He and Glenn Ford both nailed this role.

I don't see anyone getting upset because people don't like the film. They are getting upset at a particular poster with obviouis bias who is berating other poster's for their own opinions, and who insists on pointing out widely known and accepted flaws ad nauseam. We get it the film wasn't perfect or even near perfect. Some of us stiull enjoyed, however. Get off our backs about it is all we are saying. If the poster wants to post constructive and evolving criticisms then cool.I and otehrs are up for a good discussion. But coming in here saying the same thing over and over and over and saying those who like it are "fanboys" in a derogatiove way is trolling plain and simple.

I've only seen two movies twice in theatres so far this year, Silver Linings Playbook and Man of Steel. Might make Into Darkness the third since the crowds have probably all but died down by now in its 5th week out.

Which is exactly what happens in the SW thread.

Oh, no doubt. Its why I stay out of the star wars threads. I've been there and dabbled, but its kind of one of those once in a blue moon "I'm bored. Let's see what the star wars community is up to." I've made my peace with the Prequels. They aren't for me. To those who like them good on them, but I see no point in arguing with what is essentially a thread of brick walls. Those who like them will like them, and those who don't probably never will. Everyone in those threads are firmly set in their ways at this point. We need to just accept that we all like slightly to very different things, and just have a good discussion.

Regarding Man of Steel, I wish everyone could have found the enjoyment I found in it. The enjoyment that allowed me to look beyond the flaws.

Good post point fitprod...it should be between IM3 and Catching Fire for the #1 spot. MOS already, dropped a ton in its second weekend and will not make much past $300 million domestically.

Yes, people that keep rehashing the same flaws and people that keep excusing them should both stop. I believe most of us are over 18? Discuss the movie itself, the plot, whatever. Things like bashing Marvel movies or its fans will not be allowed. Neither will we allow repetitive nonsense like the one poster who had a ton of posts claiming the CGI in MOS is terrible or some silly thing like that. It really gets ridiculous at times .
