Get a Mack warranty through AVS.

3Yr. in addition to the manufacturer's, plus up to 2 bulb replacements.

That's:

3Yrs. Bulb coverage for up to 2 bulbs
4Yrs. General coverage
5Yrs. Optical block coverage

All for about $200. This is the cost of a bulb pretty much.

They use the same authorized service people as the manufacturer.

I got a 60" for $1700 and got this for $205. Great deal in my opinion and well worth the peace of mind.

I'm pretty much sold, got a link? I googled it and checked the AVS store but couldn't find anything other than a page describing the guarantee behind the warranty.

Here ya go!

http://tapeworkstexas.com/mack_warranty_combo.html

Basically, after purchasing it online, they send you they contracts which you then go back online and register.

The one hitch with Mack is that you have to get the warranty within 30 days of purchase, so don't wait too long because it's a great deal and they are solid to work with from what I heard on AVS.

Sounds like a great deal on a great display.

Be sure to watch plenty of Blu Ray.

Enjoy.

Thanks. I'll enjoy it. Already did a little last night. Hopefully that AVS warranty will still accept me like I originally planned. Fry's didn't tell me it was a refurb until now which kinda puts the warranty up in the air. The warranty place said they would take an open box display model as long as it was sold as "new". Which technically, according to the receipt, it was. I just hope if something does go wrong with my TV down the line, I don't get screwed when the technicians come out and look at the back of it and see that it is a refurb and have it void my warranty. With it being a display model, the bulb has already seen its fair share of use, meaning that warranty would've been a great deal for me.
