My daughter went to spend the weekend with her Mom in Medicine Hat, AB and there's some pretty nasty flooding going on. Thousands of people are being told to leave the area. Neither of them is answering texts from me.

I'm kind of nervous right now. I was given a job offer Friday. Waiting for my background check (I'm clean) & references to go through. I've been out of work for about 2 months. The company I worked for lost their biggest account and couldn't afford to pay me.

This time last year I was unemployed for about a year when taking care of my Mom who was sick with cancer. I can't afford to go through another year unemployed.

Two day orientation for school starts tomorrow. First time staying in a dorm, got to get the classes I want, and its going to be a long two days.

Though I get to eat at The Cheesecake Factory on the way home Friday.

Was going to study in the library before my computer class final presentation but since people can't shut up I guess I'll go do it in the quiet study area then eat and head to class. Not looking forward to tomorrow's exam but at least I should get out of my second class early and have plenty of time to study and at least I know what to study. Come on, As in both classes! Sure would give my poor GPA from 9 years ago a nice boost.

Thinking about age and mortality today. My mother was just released from the hospital after a bout of pneumonia. This came after her vision deteriorated to near-blindness levels.

Just kinda bummed out.
