As for the worst selling titles I have a feeling The vampire lovers didn't do too well because those type of movies never sell much. Ditto The island...

I can't see the Vampire Loves not selling well since it's a classic Hammer Films release. But I guess it could happen.

Cliff, unrelated to Scream Factory, but since you had a hand in releasing the Sonny China collection on DVD, any chance Shout might release Street Fighter on blu in the future? I'm not even sure if any usable elements exist (most of the budget DVD versions appear to be sourced from VHS), but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Also, can you clear up whether Street Fighter is actually in the public domain, or if that is a bunch of BS being thrown about from the aforementioned budget DVD "companies"?

I'd love to but the rights are with New Line.
I'm not sure why the don't stop the bootlegs.
The budget releases are sourced from Image's Laser Disc releases...if they are letterboxed.

Yeah, there are about 900 bootleg releases - many even end up in legit brick and mortar stores. Some are letterboxed, many are full frame.

Bummer that it's with New Line; I can't imagine they care enough about this title to ever give it an HD upgrade. Come to think of it, I don't think they even bothered to release it on DVD at any point.

Oh well...

Yes, it's the first true slasher and one of the very best.

Agreed... Especially coming from a fan who is typing this as he wears his "Black Christmas" shirt. Any slasher fan is depriving themselves of true greatness if they never see this flick.

DNR hell awaits...... unless the first one had a new remaster and a sense of trust the sequels weren't ****-ed with.... I'm not really sure I'm willing to get this. I'd rather someone else get this.

To not see it, for any reason, is a movie sin...

Now Buckaroo will be great to have on BD from Shout/Scream. I wished I had a Nuon enhanced dvd player to find out what those features were.

I'd also like to add that Black Christmas is an excellent slasher, and very much worth watching. Don't worry, it's not like Silent Night, Deadly Night, Christmas Evil, or the Black Christmas remake, with the Christmas connection being very overt.

Check out these cool exclusive Scream Factory Buttons that will only be available at the Shout! Factory Booth at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Made in a limited quantity they will be staggered out - for free- throughout the week. Chances to get them will be higher if you come up to us in person and say "I love Scream Factory because they released______"

I used to hang out a bit on the AVManiacs forum and Cliff often posted there back in the BCI days. Plus we have some mutual acquaintances. You can probably still find some of the interviews he did online when he worked for BCI.

Nope, release date is still set for October 22nd. The buttons were printed up before the date was finalized.

Hey Cliff,

Any chance you guys will be coming to the Fan Expo in Toronto, Canada in August? It's Canada's version of Comic Con and probably the second biggest con in the world. I know Troma, Full Moon, ect. will be making an appearance as well as stacks of celebrities. Would be awesome to see you guys there!
