I'd say it's pretty good. Since you seem to hate that look so much, it might comfort you to know that the characters that it fits don't come off as very bright.

Also, word of warning - some parts might seem. . . unsavory, especially when you bring in the "this is a true story aspect". It's highly fictionalized, more so than most movies (let's put it this way - there's a moment where something over the top happens and the phrase "this is still a true story" appears on screen. The moment involves Dwayne Johnson's character, who doesn't actually exist because he is a composite of a few people, doing something that probably didn't happen). Just think of it as fiction inspired by a true story, that pretends it's closer to the truth to get you more involved.

To sum up my long-winded statement: definitely see it, but go in with the right expectations.
