Trekkies are really bad when it comes to that. Whenever they say something "isn't true Star Trek," what they mean is that it doesn't fit their personal, narrow, minutiae-loaded belief of how Star Trek should be done even though they have absolutely nothing to do with and will never have anything to do with the creative process behind Star Trek.

It's also the same way with James Bond. Whichever actor you grew up with is usually the one you like the most.

So after seeing it 5 times, still wondering when I will finally see it in theatres with an auditorium that isn't about 2/3 full. Cannot believe how much I love this movie and I had exceptionally high expectations for it going in. Zack Snyder is my hero, this movie is the best superhero film ever made and I may actually go again in theatres, we'll see.

And most Trekkies also forget that some of the BEST Trek movies came from people that never saw the show during its run. Meyer never watched it until he came on board. Same with JJ.

I've seen it twice and I'm already getting an itch to see it again, it's just hard to find the time with twins and all, plus I really want to see pacific rim. I do hope I can see mos at least one more time before it leaves theaters though.

I am not one to see movies in theatres more than once, its generally a rule I follow because I figure if I have the time to go to a movie at the theatres it may as well be a new one and I can see it when I get it on blu.

That being said, I actually do have a bit of an itch to see MOS again. I really liked it and I think all the mixed reviews is making me want to see it again more to see if the second time I will see all the flaws everyone is talking about.

I probably won't see it again though, plenty other movies I haven't seen that I want to see so I still would have to stay with my assessment that this is the best movie of the summer, maybe of the year.

This exactly! It did a brilliant job of invoking nostalgia. SR was the first Superman I ever saw and when I watched the first Reeve movie recently, I got chills hearing that theme!
Same here mate!

Thanks guys, for loving that scene! It was absolutely such a beautiful/powerful scene.

On its release. It was only the IMAX showings and it was only part of the film that was converted to 3D - about 20 minutes (according to this review it was four scene,s which sounds right - the flashback of a young Clark, the plane rescue, the boat rescue and Superman's final flight). I saw it, the 3D was fantastic, especially the plane scene. Though I was disappointed that the opening credits weren't converted as they would have been perfect for the format.

Thanks Riddhi! Yeah, the song was featured in the first season of Smallville but the Five For Fighting version is a bit too 'cheery', which is why I chose the Boyce Avenue cover for the video.

Superman Returns too? Why not . Any song suggestions?

Btw, these are two more that I did a few months ago :

It really was though, absolutely excellent. It's a small moment but the point where the plane loses gravity and everything floats around was awesome. You have to remember though that this was back when 3D was extremely rare so I'm not sure how well it would stand up now we're more used to it. Shame they couldn't put the scenes on the last DVD set but I imagine IMAX paid a decent amount for the exclusivity (as they did with the Potters 5 and 6)

Maybe someday some fanboy can restore SR to its proper glory (with mostly his money) and convince Warner to re-release it in an anniversay edition in Full 3D- courtesy of Stereo-D.
I know this is like Castles in the air. But here's hoping! Just like Michael Thau did a lot of work in Restoring Donner's Superman movies!

I kind of hope that Lex Luthor doesn't make an appearance in future Man of Steel films. He has been done too many times.
Lex Luthor is NOT likely to be left out. There is a reason why LexCorp appeared in MOS.

My biggest beef with SR is the creepy stalking scene where Superman is spying on Lois in her house, using his X-ray vision and super-hearing. It made him look like a stalker.

^ This. For me it also supassed Batman Begins as the best superhero movie. I am amazed that some people don't like this movie because i have not meet one that hates it like some do. The movie has everything. Will definitely see it at the theater one or two more times

WW gross for this movie is NOW at 586 million making it the most successful reboot and most successful start to a comic book movie. Only Spider-Man 2002 has earned more and TAMS WW is more but it has beaten its Domestic run

So it's not the most succesful comic book franchise starter then? Because no way it will beat Spider-Man. Nor is it the most successful reboot.

At the moment, comic book franchise starter-wise:

1. Spider-Man - $821m
2. Amazing Spider-Man - $752m
3. Men in Black - $589m
4. Man of Steel - $586m

And reboots:

1. Amazing Spider-Man - $752m
2. Casino Royale - $599m
3. Man of Steel - $586m

Man of Steel's done well and well probably end up third-best comic franchise starter and second-best reboot but there's no need to up its accomplishments by claiming it to be top. It doesn't need it.

Watched this again after Despicable Me 2 at the drive in last night and enjoyed it as much as I did the first go round. Still kind of feel that some things could have been cut out and Zod(or the actor) didn't work for me. That being said, I'd put it up there with Batman Begins in terms of DC movie franchises. I'll definitely be picking this up when it comes out.

Where? My local Drive In said Warner won't let Drive In Theaters play their films. That is unless they charge each person in the car. Forgot to mention that I saw it again Friday at my local Regal Cinema. And to those who think the
[Show spoiler]family still died at the end, after he snaps Zods neck you can see the family standing huddled together in the corner.
