USA The Lone Ranger steelbook

Was just perusing the site and came across this:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-L...Blu-ray/74822/

I know there was already a BluFans steelbook announced, but hopefully we get one too.

Definitely want to keep my eye on this..

This is just an idea I whipped up.

Yeah I don't know how legit that is considering that the movie just came out. So I'm thinking someone made that in case there is one and wishful thinking.

I doubt that there will be one since apparently the US hates SB's in general it seems.

Don't care for SB is more like it. Also, just because it's posted on the blu-ray.com database, it doesn't mean that there will be one. I can upload a listing for a Assassin's Creed SB (the movie won't be in theaters until June 2015).

I know what my keywords are, i wouldn't post them if i didn't. What I'm wondering is why Disney won't steelbook in the US now?

I think Disney's new packaging now is Digibooks. They can't make Viva cases in the U.S. and for whatever reason stopped making Steelbooks.

And this website needs to put a stop to idiots creating listings in the database just for fun.

Disney won't do a Steelbook because they stopped doing them years ago. They tried IronPacks until they were banned, then VMB until they were banned too. If anything they may try and produce a new style of metal packaging, but I think there's very little chance of Disney doing a Steelbook in the near future. If they were going to, there would've certainly been one for Iron Man 3.

that still does not explain why Disney doesn't go with Steelbooks. Do they gave done sort of bad business that makes then want to try everything other than steelbooks?

Just a guess but I'm assuming that they don't want to give the steelbook company a cut of the licensing for the cases.

It can't be that much, just looking at all the stuff Zavvi is pumping out. At this rate, i should be able to preorder a Zavvi exclusive steelbook of my family Christmas video from this upcoming holiday season. Unless i miss out on the preorder and they all sellout.

The guys responsible for Disney releases in Canada/USA cleared tried to cut out the middle man and just produce their own metal packaged products. I doubt they would want to go crawling back to the makers of Steelbooks.
