Despicable Me 2 made 142 million US so far, sequel confirmed and spin off with the yellow minions also being planned.

I think those minions are love or hate characters.
Though storywise this one was weak compared to the last one, I ended up liking this movie just because of the 3D. Had pretty good depth throughout and the end credit sequence, IMO, is demo worthy material with plenty of pop-outs.

The 3d was great. It's just that the sequel is a disappointment. There's hardly any real action in this movie. It mainly focuses on Gru's family issues and minion gags with 10 minutes of cookie cutter super villain action thrown in as an afterthought. It was bizarre and definitely inferior to the first movie.

I know the trailers show a lot of minion gags as did Rise of the Guardians with the little Bell Elves, though that movie ended up only showing about 1 minute's worth of them in the film, which I didn't mind, the rest being action and adventure.

That's too bad about the movie not being as exciting as the first one. Thanks. From the trailer, this one seems like a romance story also, between two enemies.

The pre order in walmart had a free Minion included, but it was only for the 2D version, as was Man of Steel and World War Z. All 2D version pre orders.

I think the 3d in despicable me 2 is some of the very best I've seen this year, and like some others I left feeling disappointed and feeling like the story was lacking compared to the first, which was a true classic imo.

I want to give it another chance though as I think maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time as I watched the Lone Range beforehand, so Despicable me 2 probably felt more like an appetizer lol. That and I didn't have a chance to see the first Despicable!e before watching the sequel, which also may have contributed to my disappointment.

At the very least I did laugh alot throughout the whole movie, so it's still has it's frequently hilarious sense of humor lol

Well if the 3D Menu screen is anything to go by, this could be one of the best Demo discs out there.

3D in this has some great pop-outs! Great depth through the entire movie. Separation when lifting my active glasses shows strong 3D layers! Reminded me of Sammy with a lot of pop-outs! The first 30 min. was set-up great to showcase 3D! One of the best animations I've seen in a while...3D wise
