The quote on speed/performance of the PS3 confirmed what I figured - no standalone player is going to hold a candle to the PS3 in terms of speed any time soon.

You just can't get a better player then the PS3, & thats why I F'n LOVE UMM !!!!

we'll have to see about the new players coming in a few months. hope sony "borrows" some parts for better loading times

Not the case at all, obviously this is Keith's speciality, but in terms of useful horsepower players will catch up to the PS3 very soon. Now the PS3 is an awesome media powerhouse, but it has to do so much compared to a standalone player, even when player mode rather than game mode. Standalone players will catch up and surpass the performance of the PS3, just ask Keith...
