Default Getting dizzy?

Hey guys, is it just me or does anyone else get dizzy playing any type of first person ps3 game? I don't have a large TV (just a 32") but I still end up getting dizzy/sick after like 30 minutes of playing anything in first person view. Kinda difficult to make a dent in a game if I can't play that long. Just wondering...

Don't sit in front of the TV too much. Sleep more, take a multi-vitamin, and excercise more. Also it may help to go and see an eye doctor. You may need glasses.

I don't have that issue with consoles, I guess b/c I'm sitting much further from the screen. On a PC, while I don't get dizzy, some games would cause a little bit of motion sickness (headache, nauseous feeling). For me, it's mostly an issue with some of valve's games (or source engine games) since they seem to use a zoomed in POV. Changing the POV setting helps a little but doesn't completely eliminate it so I'm not sure what else about those games gets to me. The good news, for me anyway, is that I don't get any of that playing on the PS3 (or x360, when I had it). I've finally been able to play HL2 for more than few minutes without getting a headache and feeling sick.

Anyway, my only suggestion is to see if it improves if you sit farther away from the screen.

Out of all the years I've been playing games I've never had a problem. There has been one exception though and that is Marathon on the Xbox 360. I don't know why but I've heard others have had problems with that game too.

Well I do have glasses, less than a year old. I sit about 5-6 feet away so I guess it's probably just me. Then again I don't have any problems with racing games ie: burnout, ridge racer and the gt5 demo. Any type of FPS are the ones I have issues with ie: COD4, heavenly sword etc...

Guess I might just have to give up...

Oh and I've had my ps3 since November 07

Uncharted is the only game that does this to me. its the way the camera moves and stuff kinda blurs when you look around. i can only play it for about an hour before it gets to me.

When I first played my PS3 in X-mas 06' (thanks honey!!) I played RFOM for about two hours and I had to sleep for three and take tylenol. But now I can play for hours, I guess you just got to get use to it.

The only time that I get dizzy from video gaming is when I play 'Rock Band' for more than 2 hours straight. That constant motion of the screen fret bar must get to my brain. Also, the fact that I am technically closer to the screen since any instrument but the mic requires me to be closer to the screen probably doesn't help much.

Otherwise, like was mentioned above, it's fine because I am about 10 feet from 52" LCD TV with plenty of ambient light to ease to brightness. That's something else that you should consider! Make sure that you don't turn off all of the lights when playing. That could cause severe eye strain which could lead to dizziness.

I don't feel good after an hour of an FPS, so I know how you feel. It helps to turn on all the light you have in the room. Then, try not to focus on one section on the screen. That should help you out.

3rd person games I can play 4+ hours at a time.

This happened to my old roommate as well. It's actually more common than you may think.

It's never happened to me. Perhaps with FPS games, you can see the gun, which is fixed on the screen while the rest of the screen moves around. I can see that causing an issue for some people.

It actually happens to me as well sometimes when I play Half Life 2 for more than 45 minutes. I think its because I have a bigger screen since Jan cause thats when it started but my seating distance hasn't changed as its for my computer. I'm no big fan of shooters anyways but it why I play games like Sins of a Solar Empire or EQ2

Go outside, the graphics are AMAZING!!!

I play a lot of COD so I am not judging. Try playing upside down. It won't help anything, but it would sure look pretty sweet.

that used to happen to me all the time playing the original Doom, hahaha. it's been fine ever since. the problem I have now is after playing though a song on GH3 it seems that everything continues to moove up the screen even tho it is not. it's a crazy feeling.
