The one disc version. I'll probably use the 25% off WB.com offer.

when the AVP came out the Predator DVD came with an actual movie voucher. $9.99 for the DVD and a $8.50 movie ticket was a bargain.

I'm stuck on Adam West and Burt Ward, but will still get the new fangled Batman Begins.

I'm probably in a different minority in that I really didn't care for any of the previous Batman movies until Batman Begins. The first movie's plot can be summed up as: Joker kidnaps girl, Batman rescues girl, Joker kidnaps girl, Batman rescues girl, The End with an obnoxious Prince/The Artist/Unpronouncable Symbol song mixed in. After that, the plots went even further downhill as they tried to shove way too many villains into every film.

Oh, and I'm a sucker for the marketing crap so I'll be getting the gift set. It'll look nice next to my Harry Potter gift set, and the DVD version of King Kong gift set with the sculpture (and hopefully soon the Blade Runner briefcase set).

I've gone with the single disc but it depends on the price here (and availability bearing in mind that the 5 disc Bladerunner wasn't released in the UK). I could import because the single disc version would definitely be cheaper than buying in the UK, but the more expensive one (after postage) would be more than is allowable and would incur import charges of about an extra £12 on top so I think I'll pass on that.

Keep in mind the giftset does gove you $7.50 "movie cash" towards the purchase of an adult ticket to see 'The Dark Knight' in theatres so at least you get a free ticket to see the new Batman movie.

In either version of this I think that there is a lot of over hype about it only because it wasn't originally available on blu like it was on Dud.

This was a good movie, but not good enough to pay for the gift set. I think we are making this such a big deal for no good reason. It's been on HBO in HD for a while now and it looks great, I can't imagine its going to be that much better though once its released.

I think this is just simply a case of wanting what we couldn't originally have so we're over dramatizing the release of it to blu.

Just give me the single disc on Blu. I'd rather them focus their $ and efforts on tranfers for all of the movies I want in HD and not put so much into extra packaging (that doesn't fit right in my shelving unit) and filler that just creates more trash. It is about the movies...right?

Well,

I hate custom packaging. I have no use for the fluff in the giftset. And it's nearly double the price so the addition of some movie cash for The Dark Knight doesn't make up for it to me.

Plus,.. I may skip TDK in theaters anyway because theaters near me are poor and I would rather wait for the Blu Ray

Regular Edition for me. (But I don't feel the need to pre-order it a hundred days in advance.)
