Oh god please not Joaquin Phoenix. I'd rather have them dig up River and have him play it Weekend at Bernie's-style.

My absolute top pick for Dr. Strange would be Pierce Brosnan.

I like the Viggo idea, but he seems to have moved away from popular fare.
If they want to go a little younger (though they shouldn't) Michael Fassbender would've been good, but he already has the Magneto thing going on. someone like Ewan McGregor maybe? I'm sure I will think of some other names and post them here later.

Dr. Strange should be 32-40 years old, I'd say.

But, I'm glad that, no matter who plays him, that he'll be the anchor for a film series. We could end up with The Defenders!!!

Oo. He looks the part and could play him.

Too bad he's gotten snotty/dismissive about action-franchise roles since Bond, though.
(Although we could have said the same thing about Robert Downey Jr. ten years ago...)

I think I found the perfect person: Joseph Fiennes
(minus the Shakespearean garb, of course)

This better not happen. JGL is really starting to get on my nerves and he is too young for Strange. Give him a Robin movie and occupy his time so he can't do this.

WHat problem do you have with him? He is a really good actor and is finally hitting his stride. I like him in everything I've seen him in and I would welcome his as Strange. I think Jude Law would be good for the role too but I wouldn't be disappointed with either of those two choices.

He doesn't have much range and never disappears into character. It's always JGL acting.

Why would he do a Robin movie? He wasn't Robin the character from the comics - He was becoming the new Batman, and his name just happened to be Robin as a little nod to the fans.

and if anyone complains about a spoiler there at this point you deserve a slap.

I can't stand his wooden style.

Honestly? He was better on Third Rock.

How about Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Doctor Strange ? He would be prefect for the role in a Doctor Strange movie .

No thanks. I like him, but he doesn't fit the character at all to me.

John Cusack is another actor I recently thought of that maybe could play Doctor Strange. Do you think he would be good for the role as Doctor Strange ?

If you get Tim Burton to direct you can have Depp acting zany and over the top with a lot of heavy weird makeup. Then Danny Elfman can provide the whimsical score with lots of percussion.

I doubt that would happen because neither Johnny Depp or Gore Verbinski have ever been in involved in a Marvel movie.

And they shouldn't. Then again, Disney owns MARVEL now.
