Thanks, I have enjoyed the PQ and AQ on all the Scream titles I have owned so far.

**BREAKING: Here's your FIRST LOOK at our newly-designed key art for John Carpenter's BODY BAGS, illustrated by the talented Justin Osbourn (Lifeforce, The Fog, Prince of Darkness)**

Title releases in Nov. No details yet to announce on extras, but rest assured there are some good one planned!

Is Body Bags worth a blind buy? I'm torn on this one. I like quite a bit of Carpenters work like Halloween I-III, The Fog, AOP13, They Live, and In The Mouth of Madness. However, some of his other works didn't quite work for me as much like Prince of Darkness, The Thing (I know, shoot me), Village of the Damned, etc.

What would you compare this to? Is it about like Creepshow? better or worse? Anything in Carpenters Catalogue that it compares with? Thanks.

I'm really on the fence on this one.

Amazing cover art! This is right up there with "Prince of Darkness" as my favorite cover arts.

I wouldn't call this a Carpenter film per say. It has it's good moments I would say slightly lesser quality than Creepshow but still a fun show to eat some popcorn to. If you didn't like The Thing or Prince of Darkness I don't know if my opinion will help because I loved those.

Jesus. The art is fine, I'm sure whatever post-scandal measures they put in place are also adequate, but are there really so few horror artists out there that every outlet has to keep using Osbourn despite the guy's plagiarism? (I will emphasize that Shout! is far from the only entity here. It frustrates me in a general sense, not specific to Shout.)

This is honestly what I was thinking. I mean I like the artwork he's done for Scream (Lifeforce is still one of my favorites), but that scandal did cast a pall over his work, and now I can't help but look at his artworks in question and wonder just how much of it was from elsewhere...

I think it is. The first story is great in this anthology but all of them have something cool in them. Gory and funny, this will certainly be in my collection!

I don't know... I seriously hate the movie, for me its Carpenter at his worse. It's just so goofy and stupid but not in a good way.

They usually announced if a title will be CE when it is actually announced.
I guess emphasis on the "usually"

I love Carpenter but to be honest I would take Nightmares or if sticking with Carpenter even a double feature of Cigarette Burns and Pro-Life over Body Bags. It's not his strongest stuff.

Does anyone anticipate a price drop or these ever going on sale? 20 bucks a disc is too rich for me to swallow. Will we have an october sale?

I was also angered and disappointed to see they were still employing Osbourn. Honestly, it is an insult to real artists who actually create their own work. Lianne 'Spiderbaby' was exposed as a plagiarist and her career is now basically over. Why do Scream/Shout continue to work with Osbourn after all that has been revealed and discovered? It really is outrageous.

For all the care and effort Scream put into the packaging and extras, attention to detail that marks them as genuine horror fans and aficionados, you'd think they'd have a little more respect for the tenets of honesty and creativity. I'll get off my soapbox now, but as someone who absolutely loves what Scream does, I had expected better from them on this issue. To call Osbourn 'the great' in the press release is, without hyperbole, genuinely reprehensible and insulting.

Cliff, does Scream just honestly not care that this guy has flat-out stolen literally dozens of images and entire designs, and that ample proof exists proving this? Does it really not matter at all? As I said in the Body Bags thread, if Scream are stuck with a pre-existing deal/pre-printed packaging, that's one thing, but to actively assign Osbourn more work after the scandal is, in a word (and this is from someone who rarely swears here) BULLSHIT.

People wring their hands over dented slipcovers, lack of titles that Scream doesn't (and/or can't) get the rights to, missing international cuts that didn't represent the director's intent, and other issues that are basically white-noise nonsense, but this is a move that should be heavily criticized.
