And yet I am not surprised. I always suspected that kind of behavior was going on backstage at MS. And now I see that it is still going on strong.
Another reason I am glad to use a Mac!

So Bill, I just wanted to say that I, for one, also greatly anticipate seeing either Dr Who (I know, i know, it was recorded in SD) and Torchwood on Blu-ray! Also I can't agree more with your earlier article, I have given up "prime time" tv years ago. All of the shows are mindless garbage. And the only ones with an ounce of thought or creativity get dropped. If it wasn't for the Discovery Channels, Nat Geo Channel, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network.... I wouldn't watch any TV at all. Which is why I am so ecstatic about Blu-ray!

Keep up the great work on your articles.

I'd have to add FX into that mix. It's about the only channel my wife and I both like to watch the series on any more. We never miss an episode of The Shield, Nip\Tuck or Rescue Me. Also really dug Damages as well.

Bill, if you have the opportunity when talking to Warner Bros.
you can tell them at least one person thinks their "book"
packaging edition of Bonnie and Clyde is crap. That is the last blu-ray
"book" edition I'll buy regardless of which movie it is. I'll
wait and import it from the UK or do without. Packaging is
worthless as who wants to sit down and peruse a 7 x 5½"
book with fine print. Put the information on the damn
disc so people can read it on their television. They don't
even include the disc art that is removeable so I can insert
in a Standard plastic blu-ray case. I swear some
Marketing people need to be down-sized.

Sorry folks, I have over 300 blu-ray titles, and this is my
first rant.

Goodness! Sorry to keep disappearing. Things have been a little crazy, here at The Bits, which is nothing new.

I'll chime back in today with a great piece of news however: I've confirmed with Warner that they'll be releasing The Animatrix in high-def on Blu-ray later this year, either as part of The Matrix Trilogy box set or on its own (or both).

By the way, I'm asking them about TrueHD on Perfect Storm as we speak.

I'll check back in later this afternoon to answer some questions...

Hey Bill.

Thanks for checking on The Animatrix, that's great news! I actually asked you this via e-mail yesterday, so... wow!... great service!

Hello Bill,

If it's not too late, please ask Warner to confirm that V for Vendetta will have TrueHD as well. WickyWoo pretty much confirmed that it will include TrueHD like the HD DVD counterpart but it would be great if Warner would also confirm it for Blu-ray once and for all.

Many thanks...

Thanks.

I doubt WB will earn profits on animatrix single-pack Blu-ray discs.

So my bet is WB will release Matrix Ultimate Box Set BD, which includes 3 movies and Animatrix and extras disc, like they did on HD DVD.

I'll be the one that gets it out there first. Bill any progress on The Universal/Paramount front? I know releases are a ways off but whats stopping them from similiar preliminary announcements regarding a braod slate of titles like Warner with their list.

You mean like collecting up today's Rumor Mill?

Am I crazy, or is BD quickly going WAY, WAY beyond what we got at the same point with DVD?

I look at that list and go: OUCH!!!! It's going to be a damn expensive Q2/Q3.

You haven't seen the half of it yet. And the kicker is, all the studios tell me that next year is when the floodgates will REALLY open.

I was thinking the same thing about expensive year. And we have not heard from Paramount/Universal yet. If they get to releasing titles my wallet is going to be very empty later this year.

VC-1 is fine, just so they encode to make use of Blu-ray's higher bandwidth & capacity.

Not just in titles, but quality too! DVDs greatly improved over the years. I have a hard time imagining Blu-ray will improve much beyond what we have in the top movies today.

Hi, Bill. I just wanted to say thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou for the Firefly on Blu-ray updates. I'm a happy gorram browncoat now that it looks like I might see the series on Blu, and Serenity soon as well if Universal gets their act together. Everything is shiny in the 'verse.
