Iron Man PS3's exclusive content!

According to PSU, the PS3 version of the Iron Man video game (based upon the upcoming movie) will feature an exclusive costume for Iron Man, that of the Ultimate Iron Man armor.

I'm a HUGE Iron Man fan... he's easily one of my favorite comic book heroes next to Green Lantern. I've also been a big fan of the Ultimate universe since its inception (I own all the hardcover trades), tho I haven't kept up much with the classic Iron Man since Civil War started because I loathe what Quesada is doing to the classic universe.

Anyhow, this new game actually looks like a FUN movie-to-game port... one of the first done RIGHT. I've pre-ordered my copy from Amazon. The Ultimate armor just makes me even happier!

That's awesome, Ultimate Iron Man has a cool look. This game looks like it'll be pretty fun. Almost like what I was hoping Superman Returns would be.

Unfortunately, this tends to be the rule, but I think Iron Man may be the exception. From the video diaries I've seen about its creation, the developers seem pretty serious about making it a good game and breaking the "curse", as opposed to just cashing in on the license.

I know from a storyline perspective, it might be pretty thin, just because they only have so much to work with (ie. the movie script--making a 2 hr movie into 8+ hours of gameplay is tough), but the graphics, the action, and the controls look great. Fingers are crossed!

I'll give every game a try based off a movie but know better than to do a blind buy!

Having graduated from school as a game development major, the artists who worked on games based off of movies always said the TIME
was the biggest factor. The game usually gets started in late development (less than a year to make) and must be completed by time of film release tie-in. As you can see its too much pressure, and the games come out unpolished with bugs and few features to speak of and has to be out on time whether good or not.

Then also you have EA working most of the titles which is a pretty damn "mediocre" publisher who cares more about money than quality.

Other than Bond, I can't really think of an EA movie game. And personally I really liked what they did with some of the Bonds. 'From Russia with Love' and 'Everything or Nothing' were pretty enjoyable IMO. What else have they done?

I do agree that most games based on movies do suck though, and that usually is due to time constraints. Hopefully Iron Man turns out better, but I'll certainly not be getting my hopes up.

I personally liked Spider-Man 3, from the limited time I had with it.
The developers said with the Iron Man game, they follow the movie for a little while, then incorporate quite a bit of the comic book mythos, then finish up with the movie. From what I remember, they said it's alot longer than 8 hours.
The Incredible Hulk game looks like it should be decent, as well.

Come to think of it, the Harry Potter games based on the films have all been pretty decent, especially Order of the Phoenix. However, they have plenty of time and book source material to draw from. Development is already underway for the 7th book video game.

The costumes look pretty sweet. No War Machine though I see they have the Hulkbuster armor . . . that'd be cool is there's a Hulk cameo, since there's a RDJ as Tony Stark cameo in the new Hulk movie. I started off with a mild interest in the film, but the trailers have got me really anticipating it. The game looks like it's on the right track.

only game i really enjoyed was spiderman 2. didnt care for spiderman 3. armor looks good. movie looks good. but going to wait to see what the reviews say.

spiderman 2 was the best movie tie in i have played ever, dont know how they couldnt just build on spiderman 2 for spiderman 3 the game they balls'd that one big time the swing was perfect then they messed with it.

think the alien games might be good as they dont have to rush it as the movies are long out(unless they tie it to the eventual blu realese) if so i think the trend for turning older films into games may take off more.

come to think of it scarface was ok i guess.

Looks like the Xbox version is the Mark VII seen here.

I was surprised how hard it was to find a gallery of all of Iron Man's armor. That one still isn't complete, I don't think.

Any word on whether the different armor can be used for different functions, or are they just bling?

True. The 360 armor looks so much like the Iron Man classic armor. At least the Ultimate armor looks different.

No official word on this yet. However, it would make sense each suit does have at least some unique traits to it because they all have different abilities.

I was also dismayed at the lack of a War Machine suit, but it's possible that might be add-on content for later, or a sequel. Can't give it all away, eh? They'll prolly make an Iron Man 2 movie soon.
