I loved "Super 8", so I figured "Drive" had to be good. Regarding movies that I had interest going in, "Drive" is the only one that I can ever think of wanting to stop watching because it was so incredibly boring (even then, I stayed until the end). Other than that one time, I can't remember turning away (or wanting to) from a movie. I'm of the opinion, that you can't say a movie is good or bad if you didn't watch the whole thing.
Interesting,I was actually the opposite,I was so looking forward to Super 8 which after I watched it I felt let down.
A mate brought Drive round one day and I had read mixed reports on here,I really enjoyed it and when i bought it myself and watched it for the second time I loved it.
I rewatched Super 8 and I just think it's an ordinary film.

Almost anything found-footage shot films will do it for me. Recently attempted to watch V/H/S and after the first film i found it annoying (as well as the characters of the film) and turned it off.

I don't know, I can honestly say that I have no interest in that movie. I doubt I'd like it. Just out of curiosity though, what do you mean that it made the Catholic Church uncomfortable?

I finally paid money to see a Del Toro movie in theaters this summer, and it was crappy. I'll be avoiding his movies from now on.

Really bad 3d - made me walk out of wrath of the titans. this was the first and only 3d movie that hurt my eyes.
Really bad screechy loud sound making the entire movie unpleasant.

It's a movie that examines Christ as a man, with human frailties and weaknesses. Didn't portray him as a "God-like" figure. It showed his life as a regular man who had "deity" thrust upon him, and his struggles with living up to it. I found it incredible, especially because Willem DaFoe was so strong as Christ. And the Church especially had problems with the fact that it showed Christ have "relations" with a woman.

That actually sounds like it would be good. I might have to check it out sometime, thanks for the recommendation!

It is powerful. The scene where Christ is tempted in the desert by the devil and prays for strength is unbelievable, especially watching DaFoe break down. Easily the best scene in the movie. And it's a Scorcese movie to boot (so much more deserving of an Oscar nod than "The Departed"...yeecchh!)

Last movie I walked out of was XXX: State of the Union. I probably wouldn't have done that if I was seeing it now. Almost did with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Da Vinci Code 'recently'.

Pretty much NOTHING will get me to walk out of or switch off a movie, even repugnant swill like I Spit On Your Grave (both versions). Real movie fans can get through anything.

I'll never walk out of a movie, but I have on a couple rare occasions turned off some. They were mainly due to not filling like I had anything that interested me to watch in the first place, so I end up putting on something that has minimal interest to me, and I end up getting bored half way through.

The only other one I can think of turning off was Gentlemen Broncos
Made it through like 30 minutes, but it was just the weirdest and dumbest **** I've seen, so I just turned it off.

-really really really bad acting (Pacific Rim).

-excessive anything Cgi, violence, sex, swearing,etc...if it's all done for shock value or solely in a vain attempt to outdo it's predecessor it gets tiresome.

-badass thugs

-endless one liners (Iron Man Trilogy)

- too realistic/taking itself too seriously/snobbish

Nothing on screen will ever make me take such drastic measures! Only external factors would play a role in me walking out of, or turning off, a film.
