VT's Exum has been scratched from the Alabama game due to him still being recovering from his ACL/MCL tear during an offseason pickup basketball game. He is by far our strongest CB. He will be replaced by either Sophomore Manning or True-Freshman Facyson.

This could get ugly, or if you were really down on the Hokies this season, uglier.

ESPN's College Gameday will open the season at Clemson for their game against Georgia. Not a surprise at all, as that will be the Saturday night ABC game. The other potential candidates were probably Alabama-Virginia Tech and LSU-TCU, but both of those games are being played off-campus at NFL stadiums so they wouldn't be as attractive to Gameday since they likely wouldn't get as many students in the crowd.

I wished ESPN GameDay would come to Louisville, but with their weak home schedule I understand why they won't. Would be neat though with Teddy Hiesman talk and (possibly) a BCS National Championship Game. (if they go undeafted and other things fall Louisville's way)

The broker has video of Manziel signing the memoralbilia, for authenticity, but doesn't have one of him accepting payment:

Of note, Manziel told the broker "you never did a signing with me" and that if this got out he wouldn't do anymore business with him. When the broker offered more money for special inscriptions, Manziel denied, saying that he had done that before and that it caused problems.

I don't think they will ever have a smoking gun in this case, but at least on the surface, it appears there was some wrong-doing that would make Manziel inelligible. But I think without the smoking gun, the NCAA will be unable to do anything much about it.

All depends on how much the brokers want to help, which is not at all. It's bad for their business if they cut off other guys who want to do the same thing.

can't say that i agree with that part. gameday was at the 'BAMA vs. Michigan last year and it was played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Last year there was really no other option. Bama-Michigan was the only Saturday week one game featuring two top 25 teams. I was more saying that given the option they'd rather go to a game on campus rather than an off campus game.

I've always wanted to go to a game at the Rose Bowl. I've been to the "Big House" in Ann Arbor a few times and would love to compare the 2.

Some early season point spreads I found. I'd probably put my money against Georgia in both games.

Week 1:

Alabama (-18) vs. Virginia Tech
LSU (-4) @ TCU
Georgia (-1.5) @ Clemson
Washington (-3.5) vs. Boise St.
Northwestern (-5) @ California
Florida St. (-10) @ Pittsburgh

Week 2:

Florida (-3) @ Miami - 3 points? Miami should be decent, but I expected higher.
Georgia (-4) vs. South Carolina
Michigan (-2.5) vs. Notre Dame

Week 3:

Nebraska (-6.5) vs. UCLA
Alabama (-8.5) @ Texas A&M - I'd take the over.
