But then again, it's ultimately up to the individual whether it's worth putting that money elsewhere (like the full Friday the 13th boxset, for example). Me? I'm wanting the extra bonus disc. Plus, I was at a fan convention about two weeks ago. I know how pricey one autograph can be, let alone 20+. ![]() |

Another thing you guys need to keep in mind about the pricing on places like Amazon, is that with 1428 Films being an indie company(honestly, they most likely used the preorder money to pay for the actual pressings), the Amazon pricing isn't going to be what you probably think it'll be.
I'm thinking maybe $26 at the absolute lowest. This isn't WB or Paramount where you can get a new release 35% off retail on release date. Is $4 less worth 4 hours? I sure don't think so. Never Sleep Again was $23 on Amazon for a very long time(the retail on that was $24.99) and it even took a long time after release to show on Amazon. |

I thought the similar bonus disc with the Nightmare set was even better than the main feature, so I am definitely going to wait for that. Considering the autographs are close to free, I'm just fine with waiting. |

1428 Films, Panic Productions and Hutson Ranch Media have announced that the release date for Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th has been moved to Friday, September 13th, 2013. The documentary was originally slated for release on August 27th.
"Because of the scope of the show and in order to craft the best, most interesting and entertaining look at the films and TV series, it became necessary to give the post-production process a bit more time,” says producer Thommy Hutson. “Ultimately, though, we are thrilled with the show and can't wait for fans to get back to camp - and we think Mrs. Voorhees and Jason would be happy with the new date!" "Having spent well over a year in production on Crystal Lake Memories, we wanted to take a little more time to give fans the definitive Friday the 13th documentary they've been waiting for," explains writer/director Daniel Farrands. "Not only were we able to line up a couple of last-minute interviews for our bonus disc and record a full filmmaker commentary track, it just made more sense to wait a couple of weeks and release Crystal Lake Memories on the ‘unlucky day’ it celebrates: Friday the 13th." The three-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of the documentary, which runs a staggering 400 minutes, can currently be pre-ordered exclusively via the film’s official website. An exclusive bonus disc containing approximately 4 hours of extended interview material will be included with orders placed on the website. After the soft release on September 13th, the film will be available to the general public on October 8th. Corey Feldman (star of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter) narrates Crystal Lake Memories, which features interviews with approximately 150 cast and crew members from all twelve Friday the 13th films and the syndicated television series, many of whom have never before appeared in on-camera interviews. Interview subjects include Kane Hodder, Robert Englund, Tom Savini, Danielle Panabaker, Sean S. Cunningham, Derek Mears, Betsy Palmer, Wes Craven, Robert Shaye, Alice Cooper and many more. Crystal Lake Memories promises to be the definitive retrospective on the unstoppable Friday the 13th franchise. The film is written and directed by Farrands and produced by Hutson, who previously teamed up for the award-winning Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. |

I'm fine with September 13th and will not be cancelling my order. 2.5 weeks isn't bad. If anything changes from here, I'm cancelling immediately though. I'll give them one mulligan. It's good too because now we know the Amazon orders won't go out until 10/8 at the earliest. I'm still excited for this.

Hey, I'm having trouble finding my order confirmation email (bought directly from their website). Can anyone tell me the email they use?
Nevermind, found it in my paypal statement. Don't see the actual email though... Last edited by jthefrank; 08-09-2013 at 06:14 PM. |

Mine worked out to be $45. Seems way worth it though. 7 hour doc, 7 hour commentary, 4 hours bonus disc (if pre-ordered through them) comes to 18 hours of material. A twilight time release now costs the same.

So I'm tired of complaining.. I don't like the delay but will accept it at this point. So shifting gears to something else entirely... After this Documentary releases, what other Franchise(s) would you like to see this team tackle? At the top of my list would be Hellraiser, but I'd buy releases of all of these if done in the same manner as the Elm Street legacy & Crystal Lake Memories.
In Order of Preferance: -Hellraiser - Name it "Pleasure and Pain" (Hellraiser 1-9) -Child's Play Anthology - Name it "Friend to the End" (Child Play - Curse of Chucky) -Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Chainsaw '74 - Texas 3D) - No idea on what to name this one. -Alien Anthology (Alien - AvP Requiem) - No Idea on what to name this either -The Romero Collection (Night, Dawn, Day, Night '90, and the Modern Sequels) - Name it "The Dead Walk" -Saw Anthology - Name it "It's time to play a game..." I'd buy every single one of these documentary's if they created them. |
