Tbh, although I did see Let Me In first and loved it, the original is so much better.
Probably the greatest Vampire film ever made.
Perfection.

I really enjoyed the American version too but I must admit that LET THE RIGHT ONE IN deserves to be in classic status.
It's my favorite vampire film since 1985's FRIGHT NIGHT and before that 1979's DRACULA and SALEM'S LOT.

Let the Right One In is definitely a modern day vampire classic. However, the greatest vampire film ever made is and probably always will be the original Fright Night in my opinion. Horror movies in general don't get much better than that one.

The quintessential Vampire Movie for me will always be Bram Stokers Dracula. Even with it's flaws, I first saw it on HBO when i was 10/11 years old back in the early 90's (my folks had taped it as well) and I've always loved the first hour or so of that film. Yeah it tends to drag on at parts, but when I think Dracula/vampires I always think this movie first. (Oddly enough these memories are followed by seeing Interview with a Vampire as a kid, and then 30 Days of Night a few years back).

I've never seen a better vampire film then Martin - a masterful deconstruction both haunting and hilarious.

Any guesses?

Maybe they'll snap up New Year's Evil, To All A Goodnight, and Savage Weekend. All of which Cliff says are MGM, so maybe we can get some non-bootlegs (or dvd-rs)!
NOW those would be awesome and finally on DVD/BD combo if Scream does htem.

No mention of Alligator 2, maybe because they already grabbed it, and the yearning for part 1 is because they ended up only getting the sequel... :shrugs:

Its a long shot, but who knows. Lol.
Lionsgate should be jealous of Scream's success and sell them Alligator and Chopping Mall.

Oh yes a nice colorful presentation Vampire Lovers gives us.

And anyone thinks Prison has a nice PQ transfer and better looking than any bootleg DVD fans held on to for years?

In that sense I kind of feel bad for her, I still remember the interview she did for Trilogy of Terror were she says that despite no matter how many accolades she has received for Five Easy Pieces or The Day of the Locust, she will always be remembered for that movie.
Yep, just like when David Hemming passed, everyone mentioned "star of DEEP RED", no mention of BLOW UP or other great roles, ditto for Deborah Raffin "star of THE SENTINEL" (she was just one of the alphabetical guest stars in that!), no mention of THE DOVE, 40 CARATS, etc. But the reality today is, if you appeared in a horror film, that will surpass any acclaimed or historically imporant film they appeared in.

Karen Black contributed to my THE PYX disc, and due to schedule conflict, couldn't meet her, but wish I did, as I would have loved to ask her about PORTNOY'S COMPLAINT!

I don't have the BD. But I see no static line in the caps from the BD, only in the caps from the DVD?

+1 on Leviathan and the Rift. I think the Rift would wind up on a budget DVD release though...

I think either you have the caps mixed, or you're looking at something else.

The line in question, isn't a solid line, and it's very, very faint. Static probably isn't the right decription. It more like a series of pinhole-esque marks very near, but not quite at the edge of the frame.

I really didn't notice the line while watching the film from my usual position, only when I was standing almost immediately in front of the screen, and only if I was looking for it.

Wasn't this supposed to be 'in the works' by some other label a year or two ago?
