Okay, so I've never seen the documentary for A Nightmare On Elm Street "Never Sleep Again" (dodges rocks and poop thrown by other users), so to balance out Crystal Lake Memories I'm going to pick this up.
However, Amazon has it listed twice, one single disc and one double-disc. The pictures and description, heck, even the reviews are almost exactly the same. I'd go with the two-disc set since I love as many features as I can get, but that one is cheaper than the single disc. So, which one should I pick up? |

You are quite possibly correct... there are a ton of Great documentary's out there already, but I immensely enjoyed the way in which The Elm Street Legacy was put together and how I anticipate Crystal Lake Memories will be put together as well.. It's because I find the way it's assembled so great that I'd love to see it spread to other genre's... even if that means rehashing things that have been said already on other doc's. and on that related note, for those interested check out "Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film" It's another FANTASTIC (IMO) documentary that covers all the major (and a few minor) releases from the 70's through to the Mid 2000's. I really, really enjoyed it, but it's available only on DVD at the moment.

Also, Amazon's reviews are kinda worthless because Amazon aggregates all reviews for a single "title" under every listing. So, if you search Citizen Kane, you might see VHS Tape era reviews under the Blu-Ray. |

Saw would be a great series to cover. I love Aliens but the blu-ray has so much already that looks into the series that I cannot possibly imagine there being that much more to tell. The blu-ray set has an incredible amount of information to take in, including the old vintage laserdisc archives of Alien and Aliens. Saw, on the other hand, seems ripe for some retrospective.

25 Years Of Terror is a wonderful doc, yes, but I'd like to see a fan-made doc with the scope of Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories. This way, the "big" slasher trifecta is complete... |

Didn't someone mention that these guys are going to be releasing Never Sleep Again on blu-ray in the near future? I recently sold my original DVD set (without the audio commentary) for $18.50 so I'm waiting for more info on that before I re-buy it in the collectors edition.

The second NSA DVD release has a commentary and a nice slipcover.
The German NSA Blu-Ray is nothing more than a very poor SD upconversion of the DVD with tons of DNR added to try and hide the fact. It's still blocky as hell. It's also missing some extras. The US DVD is the only way to go. |

According to the interview I posted a link to, the delay was to include English and Spanish subtitles (a lot of people were requesting) and to add some last second interviews to the bonus disc (they couldn't add these interviews to the main movie, but they didn't say who they were).

I don't understand... what's the point of doing a pre-order for a version that's incomplete, only to release a full version two weeks later?
So, just to be sure, do I have this right? Sep 13 - standard version comes out, with a bonus disc if you order ir direct from the site (or DD). Oct sometime - a "mainstream" version comes out, with both discs, a slip cover and commentary not included with the Sep 13 version. ^That's correct? Because that makes no sense, and I'll definitely have to cancel my pre-order, not even regarding the release date delay or issues getting signatures. |

They're referring to the Elm St doc, not the Friday one.
Edit: Wait, the commentary for Crystal Lake Memories won't be on the initial set?? Edit #2: The description on the CLM site says 'Audio commentary with writer/director Daniel Farrands, author Peter M. Bracke and co-editor Luke Rafalowski (main feature)' as well as 'bonus DVD'.
