The 2 that genuinely scare me into being afraid to walk down the dark hall to my bathroom at night are:

- The Exorcist
- The Strangers

I kid you not, I'm terrrrrified.

This is for those who call for new announcements on a near daily basis.

Patience please. We know you're anxious for more but deals for more titles - which are in the works - have to be signed first.

Yes and I just loved
[Show spoiler]how ghosts/Sadako appeared very subtly, somtimes in the background or on the reflection on the TV screen, without typical jump scares or obvious dramatic orchestrated soundtrack...and of course the last TV sequence!

The Japanese version of Pulse is so unnerving.

The "would you like to meet a ghost" email/video part scared the patookie out of me.

The first time I watched The Exorcist, I stopped the movie half-way through, then turned on literally every light in the house.

I can't even sit through it entirely. I often find myself skipping to the next chapter. Its so scary.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)

I couldn't sleep for 3 nights straight after watching it. Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter fame still to this day scares the sh*t out of me.

I guess I'm the only one that found it pretty tame. I mean, outside of the exorcism scene and a few random possessed Regan scenes, I found the rest pretty boring.

Don't get me wrong, I love atmosphere and gradual buildups, but the first third is just so...I don't know, dry. More like padding until the big scene.

Hell, even the Exorcism scene wasn't too bad. Sure, I grew up seeing it in bits and pieces from different countdown and documentary shows, but I was expecting more.

I found it to be almost like a documentary myself. A good film but certainly not scary to me.

And not a movie, but the ghost episodes of Unsolved Mysteries still to this day scare the crap out of me. You can get most of them in a box set. Also, the show A Haunting can be pretty scary at times!

I remember Se7en scaring the life out of me when I was a teen. Also, the first time my brother and I were young and snuck a rented copy of Evil Dead into our parents VCR while they were sleeping.

These days? It takes a lot (I'm rather desensitized), but I would have to say the hallway scene in Exorcist III, and the final 20 minutes of Requiem For A Dream.

I'm not sure it was scary as it was brutal but 28 Weeks Later disturbed the heck out of me because of:
[Show spoiler]what happened to the main characters
... it was such a sharp change from the first one.
