The fifth ex-Anchor Bay title is indeed Neon Maniacs. Remains to be seen if it will be released on Blu-ray. Indeed, it remains to be seen if anything ever will be. That's not a slight on Code Red. They've released some great stuff which I'm very thankful for (Rituals, Police Connection, Nightmare, etc) but at this point I would be genuinely surprised if they put out a title on Blu-ray.

I really hope he does release it on BD. This film is my biggest wish for Blu-Ray. I would buy the disc day one, and pay Demons prices for the movie in HD. I really hope he does what he says and releases this film on BD.

The Electric Chair was also 'confirmed', nine months ago. Not that anyone has been clamoring for it in the meantime...

I found that to be such an odd title to debut your blu-ray releasing with.
Then I realized it doesn't matter, odds are we'll never see it anyway...

And I pray that another ex-Anchor Bay title that was recently shopped around, Night of the Demons doesn't end up with Code Red.

I doubt it but the fact tht he can afford some of these right now scares me a bit. Maybe he had enough money to sway the NOTD producers... :shrgd:

Don't worry, I think NOTD is with Synapse.

One of my favorite obscure Achbor Bay titles is THE JOHNSONS. Man, a Code Red blu ray of that movie would be soooo cool. not getting my hopes up...

Maybe HELL NIGHT though...

I thought (and still do) that Synapse has Night of the Demons, but what makes any of us so sure??

I just saying, stranger things have happened.
(Come to think of it, no they haven't...)

Yes I remember you saying this before. I agreed it could be synapse...I just didn't think it counted as a "slasher." Anyways, I asked Don May about it and he said - "nothing to report on NOTD. nothing is really happening."

....so idk, it sounds like negotiations were at least discussed...not sure though

The last former AB title is Tobe Hooper's Spontaneous Combustion, which is slated for both DVD and Blu-ray.

I found the film rather poor but I hope it sells well for Code Red.

Evilspeak is available for sale through Code Red but sadly it's DVD only. I thought I read somewhere it would be released on Blu-ray. Oh well.

Keep in mind that the possibility of a Night of the Demons blu-ray was also announced on the same day as a Kickstarter for a sequel to the Night of the Demons remake. Although possible coincidence consiracy theorists like myself might wonder if the original NOTD blu-ray announcement wasn't some cheap move to create enthusiasm for the Kickstarter. It seems clear there is no definitive NOTD blu-ray plan; however great it would be.

This remake sequel Kickstarter failed horribly raising under $6k of a $225k goal.

Forget blu-rays of anything, I'm still waiting for a freaking DVD of Night Warning/Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker.

I wish SOMEONE would help Bill to actually inform customers of his product, instead of having random movies pop-up on his site, without any warning.

I can't buy something off-guard.
With Scream, Olive, Criterion, Synapse, Scorpion, Vinegar Syndrome and the big companies actually releasing blu-rays regularly, they have my money before Code Red...

But if I could plan to buy it, aka pre-order it, then Bill could add another customer...

I tried to explain him the importance of pre-order, and how it plays a large part in comsumers ordering your stuff, but to make a long story short, he woun't accept the concept of it.

Some of the titles he announced would do so much more if he has them available at key places like Super D , Hastings, Rasputin, as well as post on boards like this more often.

If Night Warning, The Farmer, Family Honor or a Savage Streets BD pop up suddenly on his site before I find out and they sell out, I'm gonna be pissed...

Any chance you could explain the importance of Blu-ray to him and make it stick? I was going to get Evilspeak, but only if the promised Blu comes out. Is there any chance he is just waiting to see how your titles sell on Blu?

I always had this feeling that there was an animosity between you two. Totally unfounded of course, it just always seemed like "these are my titles, and these are his...". Glad to know there could be a potential "team-up" on titles in the future.

Not unless I bring a long spoon for dinner with him.
