Ditto! I don't see it coming to any of my nearby theaters at all.

They're the same size on Criterion's site.

City Lights cover is an abomination. Worst cover of the year for me.

Seconds (ordered from the Criterion site with my $10 gift certificate)
Strangers on a Train (ordered for $10 from Amazon third party dealer)
Dial M for Murder (Barnes & Noble after coupon)
Niagara (Barnes & Noble after coupon)

I am now the proud owner of every Region A Alfred Hitchcock Blu-ray.
Were Niagara and Dial M in store? If so, how much were they in store?

And well you should be! I'm so jealous, I need to check my Walmart to see if it's there for $10 or so...seems all the brick and mortar that do have it are $20. (Don't Bother to Knock is the next Marilyn pic I'd like released)

I'm glad my avi brings some happiness! Who can't help but smile and just feel her glow from that picture?

Oh my god!!! City Lights, Tokyo Story, and Frances Ha all in the same month?! One of their best announcements ever.

Yessiree.

Sorry for the off-topic horn blowing, but I've been wanting this ever since it was announced earlier this month, and jumped at the chance when I saw it today.

Marilyn Monroe in a film noir with the amazing Joseph Cotton (Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt).

It's a blind buy, but I am making an early call that this will have some serious rewatchability value in my collection.

Dial M for Murder was $35.99, but my 20% off coupon and the 10% members discount kicked it down to $26. This was expensive, especially since I do not have the means to watch the 3D version (or the physical capability to watch the 3D version, as I have lazy eye in my right eye.).

Niagara was $25, and the 10% off took some sting out of it. Not far above what Amazon was charging, so same end result after shipping, etc.

That appears to be correct. So there remains a glimmer of hope. But panicking is so much more fun.

(But note, on Criterion, the Blus are technically being depicted wrong, so who knows how they justify that choice, probably to make their interface look all tiley and there were more DVDs than Blus)...

I honestly don't like it, but like I said earlier, nothing could be worse than Gate of Hell cover. The photoshop looks hideous.

Not a bad blind-buy, I need to upgrade it eventually.... I still really hate that cover art

They could be using bigger artwork just for the site since they no longer need that space to show off a DVD. I would start going to FACEBOOK and TWITTER asap and start asking and let them know if those cases are DVD Sized people are going to storm their NY offices lol!

City Lights is bad. It's plain and resembles Zazie dans Le Metro too much. But there is no way it's worse than Gate of Hell.

I mean.. yuck.

I may be in the minority, but I like the City Lights cover. I just hope that it does not come in some abysmal digipak due to the dual format.

I'm really really excited about City Lights, y'all. During the sale this past month, I upgraded my old DVDs of The Gold Rush, Modern Times, and The Great Dictator, then bought the Monsieur Verdoux Blu-ray as well, so I'm still riding the wave from enjoying all of those Chaplin flicks.
