I need to find the file so I can fix it and print out a new one.
I have to admit, it was fun trying to figure out how to make a cover. I was using GIMP (similar to Photoshop, but free). I kept noticing little things that needed to be fixed once I thought I was done. It was frustrating, but ultimately rewarding. Some of the designers in this thread should do this for a living (if they aren't already), because their covers are ridiculously good.

#38 of 53. The Great Mouse Detective.

Got bored and thought I'd play around with The Nightmare Before Christmas for a bit.
I've always really hated the giant smiling Jack Skellington head cover.
Even though the back is different than the design for the animated classics, I've made the spine so that it lines up with them, in case there are people who would want to include it in that collection on their shelves.

I am making covers for the titles that I own/intend to own in my collection (which is mainly just the animated classics and a few random titles.)

I've never been a big fan of Disney's live action catalog, so most likely will not make those films.

I'd be willing to make them FOR people, but I do not have plans to make them as of now.

Default Blue Banner

I'm trying to make some "professional" looking covers for a few home movies, and I'll probably attempt some other custom covers down the road.

Is there a specific RGB code for the blue banner at the top of some packaging (where it is labeled Blu-ray + DVD)? I eyeballed a shade of blue, but wondered if it could be more accurate.

Default Oblivion (2013)

Worked on this for only two days and I'm quite proud of the finished product. I have an alternate version of this cover that doesn't have the combo banner.

Nice Work but do not like the + DVD on the spine. I don't think its needed. Just my 2 cents.

True. But that is how it looks on official Universal releases. I like to make it look custom and official at the same time. I appreciate the feedback.

Looks very nice. I like.

The only thing I would change would be to remove the movie critic quotes from the front and back and these are fluff and generally don't add much character to the cover. Now taglines on front or back do add some character to the cover.

And by getting rid of critic comment on back which takes lot of space, you can expand that nice picture of Tom starring out over the landscape.

And then offer like you say 2 versions, one without the combo wording on front with perhaps bigger logo in its place. I also like when cover artists provide a barcode less version as well.

Also its hard to tell from the preview but the color scheme looks a little on the greenish side whereas the poster materials were more of a blue color scheme.

Look forward to the final versions and thanks for asking others for input.

Does anyone have available to them, Nissen's custom retro WB looking "Mad Max 2" cover? I can't seem to get a hold of him and just got the version with the mostly grey cover and I hate it and I feel in love when I saw his custom retro looking Warner Bros. "Mad Max 2" and desperately want access to it.

Any help is appreciated, please PM me.

If anyone didn't know this is what I'm referring to..

I cannot speak directly for Nissen for I do not know him personally, but when he does share his covers he always asks that we do not share with anyone else. That's not being rude, but just protecting the integrity of the work so no else can upload the cover elsewhere and claim props on creating it. Not saying you would do that, but he is usually good about responding to his PM's and he more then likely gets hundreds of them daily because he creates such fantastic art. Both him and DrrnHarr have been quite on the custom boards for a while now, but rest assured as long as you are asking nicely for the Mad Max 2 custom, give him time to respond.
