Breaking News, Attention all German-speaking Jean-Claude Van Damme fans out there.

In collaboration with Oliver Krekel (DigiDreams studios) are coming to come Blu-ray and DVD releases of "Cyborg" aka "SLINGER", "BLACK EAGLE", "LEON" and "THE QUEST"

Oliver Krekel is the man behind the release of Leviathan on blu-ray in Germany. The blu-ray was horrible! This will probably be an upscale like all his releases.

I don't think that these will be upscales. There are HD masters available for two of them, and Universal probably do have an HD master ready for Lionheart, like they had for Junior. Not sure who owns Black Eagle.

With Black Eagle just released and the screenshots are in, I feared the worst for Lionheart.

I also just found out that the HD remastered version of the Director's Cut of Cyborg they've just released is.. well.. remember the cut that Albert Puyn released a few years ago on Blu? The one that was upconverted from a VHS? From what I understand is that the movie is in fact genuine HD.. but the inserted DC scenes are just the VHS upscales mixed together with the rest of the movie........

BUT!

From their FB, I now learned that they've in fact received HD masters for Lionheart!! March can't come quick enough!!
