Default SixAxis/DualShock 3 on PS4?

Has anyone read or heard anything that would indicate the PS4 being backward compatible with the PS3 controllers? I ask because I am physically disabled and I'm worried the new DS4 might be too large/heavy for me to use.

No, unfortunately it is not compatible.

Definitely not compatible.

Do you have significant problems with the Dual Shock 3? The DS4 is only slightly heavier. DS3 is 192 grams, and the DS4s that have been shown off are 210 grams (about 10% heavier).

Size-wise it's slightly wider with longer grips, but that shouldn't affect how you use it unless your disability is that you're missing a fingers or a whole hand.

With 3D printing becoming cheaper and more capable, it'd be great if someone started a business transplanting the internals of stock game controllers to custom-printed shells for whatever the customer's need is.

My disability doesn't allow me to use my left hand at all and I have extremely limited use/mobility on my right hand. I use the SixAxis because it's lighter and the buttons seem easier to push than DS3.

I play using only my thumb and index finger on my right hand. My thumb only handles the left stick while my index bends and presses the face action buttons. I'm not able to use L1, L2, L3, R2, R3, D-Pad at all, and can rarely press R1 (on a good day).

Not to mention I'm a ranked NHL and Madden player.

Just bummed I have a Launch PS4 coming that I likely won't be able to use [well].

kind of off topic but the fact that you mention the controller makes me wonder if the harmony one remote will be able to control the PS3 and PS4?

I have the adapter to use my remote with the PS3... just wondering if there was anything in there that I would be able to control my PS3/PS4 independently of each other if I were to have both hooked up for whatever I felt like playing?
