Question about PS3 720p Blu-Ray output

Sounds like the Bravia's doing a better job of deinterlacing and downscaling 1080i to 768p. I would still check that you don't get a better picture on the Bravia with 720p PS3 output too, not just on Blu-ray movies but games too.

1080i on the Bravia just seems a bit crisper, which is surprising since the Sharp is newer and a higher end model than my Sony. 720p for BR on the Sharp is outstanding though.
