Australia Iron Man 3 Steelbook

Don't know if it's common knowledge that we're getting an Iron Man 3 steelbook 28-08-13.

Even comes with a mighty 7.1 soundtrack!

It's a pity it doesn't include 3D otherwise I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

Any news on what's included in this fine looking steel? I want to be fully armed before purchasing as i don't want a repeat of the Avengers (missing commentary). It's like Justified S4 - don't release it early without EVERYTHING included.

Sucks that you bought the local version without the commentary, but it was known pretty early on and it's why I got the US version of The Avengers. Did you end up buying the US version or just gave it a miss?

I got both. I grabbed the local steelbook and the US Best Buy steelbook as well, so i got best of both worlds (the BB steel came with the lenticular cover as well, so a double win)! I also ended up selling our local steel for a bit more than i paid for it

Our copy of IM3 is freakin awesome! Loving everything about it.

Can anyone tell me if there is a version of this steelbook that has a 3D copy of the film? I quickly grabbed a copy of this form JB today without really paying attention to the cover, naturally just assuming this had a 3D disc as well but once I got home and opened it up I realised it was 2D only (felt stupid afterwards).

At the moment the 3D version is anywhere from $30-$40, and the 2D steelbook is going for $30 at JB, which is cheaper than I expected.

The problem is, when somewhere like JB gets an exclusive, they can pretty much charge whatever they want for it because the know if someone wants it before it sells out they'll suck it up and pay it - but it's got the the point where it's completely ridiculous! For example, the 3D "limited edition" of Wreck-It Ralph was going for $47 when it first came out and is currently selling for $50 (and the only thing special about it is a slipcover).

The stores can complain about losing sales to overseas vendors all they want, but they don't seem to understand that more people will buy locally if they make their prices more reasonable. If Amazon is selling the same kind of steelbook for half the price that an Aussie store is asking, guess where I'm going to be buying it from?!
