As some of you might recall, I got laid off a bit earlier... and I've just taken a slight pay cut and accepted an offer from a competitor...

Slight is better than no job. Glad you were able to find something so soon.

Thanks, man, and I do understand a slight pay cut is way better than having no job at all. That said, can't say if the new company is taking advantage of me or not, but their benefit package just isn't that attractive at all. Hey, yes, still it beats having no job!

EDIT: I guess the only weird feeling I have is, I am joining a competitor. What I know and learned from my current company will be or can be used to go against them down the road. That's all.

What's on my mind? This stomach ache that I've been getting everyday since I moved into my dorm. It goes away after 30 minutes but it sure is painful.

Haha. Then you'll become an asset for your new company and get that promotion to bigger opportunities!

My sugar was 346 this morning. The highest I have ever seen it. The insulin I just started is obviously not at a high enough dose. Higher dose = $$$$$.

This disease is going to eventually kill me. Maybe I should just speed up the process and take a 12 gauge to the temple. But I might have to take care of my mother. My father goes in for surgery next week to get a cancer spot removed from his lung.

thinkin' about the dentist appointment i have at 3pm today.....gotta get a crown.

i broke a tooth last week and it can only be fixed with a crown. not an issue, i'm just not a fan of the dentist. it's not the person (he's cool as hell), just the thought of the little drill in my mouth.

I definitely think I am gonna get rid of the 'dead wood' Blu's I own,just the ones I really don't have any real interest in re-watching plus it will free up a bit of space.

I'll have to get the notebook out and start chalking some off my collection.

Sams Club and Wal-Mart sell 70/30 insulin without a prescription and two bottles are under $60. It could also be that your body is not used to it yet so it isn't dropping your levels consistently yet.

Also, being blind doesn't mean you kill yourself. There are millions who live full lives without sight. But you don't know that will happen yet.

Yeah I have to see if my doctor can switch me to the cheap stuff. Lantus is expensive. I asked him for something cheap right from the start but he said we'll just try this for now. I couldn't live blind being a burden on people. Plus I need the internet. But yeah I don't foresee any immediate complications. I'm talking 20-30 years from now.

As far as I know, Humulin is just as good as Lantus for most people. Also, if your doctor will write a prescription for it insurance will still pay a portion of it even though it is OTC. If Lantus is too expensive and it is fluctuating you too much (which is a known side effect) I'd look into something else regardless of what your current Doctor is saying. Over on the American Diabetes Assoc. forum there are some discussions about both types that may assist you in getting back to a higher quality of living.

Whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck as no one should suffer the side effects of diabetes.

Sounds like that's something close to what is considered "in" in Japan. Depends on what shoes you wear, that look can be quite cool actually.
