The problem is how weak your schedule is with being in the AAC. It's too bad you aren't in the ACC yet, as they would have been a huge benefit for this season.

Yeah, if you played any good, top teams but you don't so 12-0 gets you a Bowl game but not even close to a NC game. A 10-2 team with a better schedule will get in before Louisville.

I am! When they are 12-0 they will not be left out. Unlike Boise St. of the past Louisville has some national respect. BoiseSt. should have had it because they were great. Just look at NFL rosters to understand that.

So a 10-2 team would be in a bigger Bowl game than an undefeated 12-0 team? That WON"T happen.

If you had a stronger schedule it wouldn't but if you go undefeated this season you are going to be disappointed. A team with a defeat or two and a strong schedule will get in before you.

It would depend on the circumstances. If you have a 10-2 Alabama versus a 12-0 Louisville, if possible a bowl is going to choose the Tide.

12-0 with as high as they started ranked could get them to a NC game.

I don't see it happening. Could it? Sure but I would think its a long shot. Too many factors IMO.

As they should, that Louisville schedule is a complete joke. If any team schedules like that and ends up in the NCG then the NCAA has completely failed. I felt the same way about Boise State's schedules as well when people were talking about them possibly going to the big game. If you want to be a champion, you should have to schedule like a champion.

But the NC doesn't pick the team. If Louisville goes 12-0, the only way they don't make it is 2 other teams going 12-0 or a 1-loss team only losing to a top 3 team.

And if they don't? They're still in a BCS bowl.

You don't get to choose your conference opponents. Plenty of BCS teams have scheduled absolute jokes of non-conference schedules as well. I guess Ohio State shouldn't make the NC either.

Who's in charge of the schedule making the head coach or the AD?

Usually the AD with some input from the coach.

Louisville isn't going to the title game, I wasn't referring to that. I was referring the Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, etc. Given the choice between an undefeated AAC team, and a two loss SEC team like Alabama or Texas A&M, we all know who they are going to want. Of course, they don't always get what they want, but you can see what I am trying to say. Louisville can't get out of the AAC fast enough.

Yes, but even as the last team selected (who picks last this year?), they're going to a mighty fine bowl.

Apparently it's Orange, Sugar, Fiesta this year.

Well sure, but no 12-0 team wants to settle for anything less than the title game. It has to be a tough pill to swallow knowing they are headed to the ACC next year.

Auburn had to before the SEC's run started. It's the way things go if there are multiple undefeated. But as the #8 team right now, if 7 others in front of them lose, they're likely in.

WV was in a few years back, coming out of the Big East and its piss poor schedule, until they lost to Pitt the final game. If Louisville goes undefeated they are in whether you like it or not.

Boise State says otherwise. 12-0 does not, in this day and age, guarantee you a NC game if you aren't in a good conference and play the big games.
