My favorites in order are 2, 4, 3, 6, 5, 1, 7, FvJ, F13Remake, JGTH, 8, JX. Parts 1 - 4 are the purest, F13iest of the series. After part 4, the series diverges in all sorts of directions, Jason Goes to Hell (my introduction to the series, naturally) being the farthest, and I mean farthest, off the beaten path.
I have Freddy Vs. Jason and New Nightmare coming from the library. Jason X is coming from Netflix next week.

Not really, unless he can find a Seiki SR212S still around someplace the cost would probably be a little over a hundred or so for a modified player to be region free.

It's a real shame Best Buy discontinued their Insignias - I got mine for $50.

Where? I've looked.
One on ebay with no remote.

Edit: Sorry that ebay listing, I saw yesterday, is gone.

Not to get too off topic, but I like everything about the Seiki except there's no optical audio output.

I might have read something wrong but did some say Jason Lives stinks? Because that is some seriously messed up stuff right there...not only is it one of my favorite films of the series it is also one of my favorite films of all time. First Friday film I ever watched so maybe that makes me bias but hey. I remember watching the VHS about 10 times in two weeks when I was probably around 11 years old.

Jason Goes to Hell is probably one of my favorites.

I know, I'm an oddball.

I only put the original, III, IV, and VI ahead of it.

That's just me, and I know I'm in the minority there.

Well, at least there is a reasonable explanation for his body switching. He was clearly screwing around with the Necronomicon.

I'm a bit late to the party on this but im so glad they are upgrading Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours.I really enjoy both movies,BD in paticular is a favourite back from the days when it was on the cover of fango.I only wish they had gone with the original coda.New features for VH is also great news.I'll also sell my dvd nearer the time and put the money towards the blu.Gotta say after some(imo) lackluster announcments scream have come back with a bang in the last 2 weeks.

Wow, this Friday the 13th business is so big it's leaking into the Scream Factory thread. OK, here's my 2 cents: Everybody has a favorite and we all have opinions on what stinks and what doesn't. None of that matters - what matters is, if there's footage that was cut and it's in good shape AND it was previously made available THERE IS NO REASON IT SHOULDN'T BE PORTED OVER TO FUTURE REISSUES regardless of the film's popularity. New Line released JGTH in Rated and Unrated versions on DVD and that's what should've been on Warner's set. No excuses. Personally, I like the film. Many people don't like it. Moot point. Both versions should've been released, so this omission makes this release incomplete.

Back to regularly scheduled programming.

They cut Jason Goes to Hell, I'm petrified to think of what they'd do to TCM3.

Leatherface, R rarted cut, that is if they ever released it on blu-ray...

Any new word on Assault on Precinct 13? I'm looking forward to knowing the specifics of the release, aside from the spectacular cover art.

There's really nothing wrong with my Image Blu-ray of Assault on Precinct 13, but it happens to be one of my all-time favorite movies, so I'm compelled to upgrade on general principle.

With regard to the Friday the 13th movies, the first two are the only ones that I have any desire to own. Friday the 13th: Part 2 has always been my favorite of the series by far. Since all pointers indicate that the Blu-rays for the first two movies will remain the same, I'll probably just pick up the first two stand-alone copies from a used rack somewhere.

So, I noticed a similar question on FB, so here goes:

Friday the 13th - The Series and
Freddy's Nightmares: A Nightmare on Elm Street - The Series

They're both with Warner Bros. Television Division, which Shout/Scream Factory have worked with a few times before.

I'd love both of these, it would be fantastic to have them both on blu-ray, if Warner would actually give them up.
