The show is still pretty good if you ask me. It's typical network sitcom fare. Don't go into it expecting much more and you won't be disappointed. I'll pick it up day one most likely (depending on the price).

I grade season 6 to be about a 'B'. It had its moments (The 43 Peculiarity) but also had the weakest episode to date (The Contractual Obligation Implementation).

I never understood why people hated Priya. On the other hand, Bernadette needs to go.

The show started to go downhill in season 4. Really don't care for Mayim Bialik since her Blossom days and her character is annoying in this show. I still watch it, but only own seasons 1 through 3. Those are the only seasons worth owning IMO.

I am more of a casual viewer of TBBT although I own all seasons on blu-ray. But I think that season 6 will not make it into my shopping cart. It was by far the worst season and completely formulaic.

Every episode is almost the same: The guys do something almost "normal" which the writers seem to have not much knowledge about, so they label it as "nerdy". Penny comes and makes fun of it and drinks herself into a coma so she can cope with the others. Then she says something stupid and the nerds make fun of her. This way the show managed to insult geeks and women at the same time. A bit later they split up the characters into two teams: The girls and the boys. The girls have some Sex and the City like scenes and the boys get some geeky scenes. Later they clash, make up and that is it.

I am also a hater of Amy and think her characters is just a horny carbon copy of Sheldon that is much more annoying. I disliked her from the beginning and was happy season 5 seemed to not focus on her that much. I thought season 5 was much better than the weak season 4. But season 6 takes everything that made season 4 bad and amplifies it.

In the early days the show managed to be both a parody and a tribute to geeks at the same time and that made it lovable. Now it has not love for it's own characters anymore, treating them like they are retarded and the viewer should laugh about how stupid they all are.

I'd give season 6 a score of 2/5.

That's exactly why I really enjoyed seasons 1 through 3.

It seems like as soon as the show got really popular (many people that I know didn't start watching the show until around season 4), the writing just got worse and worse, comedy that appeals to the lowest common denominator.

I stopped loving it after season 3 as well. I haven't seen any season 6 yet because I've just been buying the blus. Is it even worth it anymore?

Worth watching, yes, but not worth owning.

Season 6 was good, IMO. It started out slow and had a few weak episodes, but it has a lot of funny ones that make it worth owning. I thought it was an improvement over Season 5, but that's just me.

Season 6 is possibly my favorite season. If you're on the fence about buying it, I'd recommend checking out a few of the season's episodes online first to see if season 6 is your cup of tea.

Season 6 contains the series' highest-rated episode to date.

I have a feeling season 6 will be a lot like season 5 for me, in that after repeat viewings I'll enjoy it more. I wasn't that big on season 5 while watching it on TV, but after buying the BD and watching it a few times it got better.

I agree. I find her more appealing than the other blonde. The dumb one. People cannot be that unintelligent right?

This. Also, at least to me, Sheldon went from quirky ADD boy in the first couple of seasons, to outright dick to anyone who didn't go along with his nonsense.

I don't think it is cool at all to say that anyone who likes a show you don't is a "sheep".

I happen to like this show, and so you are calling me a sheep.

I am sorry we can't all be a cool hipster like you.

The main reason for my rare visit to the forums it to say that this site should not have someone who admits to hating a show, write a review for it.

If there is a "deadline", then miss it. I would rather no review, than read an opinion piece by someone who hates the show.
