Consider it DONE. Yeah, that was really awful. Totally agree.

If you mean Warner titles, TrueHD is likely to be included on most if not all. The studio is definitely aware that people want it. TrueHD is definitely confirmed for Batman Begins, V for Vendatta and Perfect Storm.

Thanks Bill.

THIS LINK (translated) makes it look like a no go at the moment. The reason I asked was because it was originally supposed to come out on HD-DVD and Blu-ray. With HD-DVD's demise and Warner holding to dual releases until June, I would have been surprised if Warner went along and released the concert on Blu-ray.

Sorry to keep bringing this up, but any word or way to check if Sony is planning to bring Rescue Me season 4 to blu-ray? I ask because season 3 was already released on BD, and not releasing season 4 seems very odd, especially after all the headway BD has made in recent months.

Most people do not need a "splash" from Paramount and Uni, or big announcements. It seems pretty simple: just start releasing Blu Ray day and date with DVD for major titles and all will be fine in most peoples books.

For example, it's hard to believe Warner can bring out "10,000 B.C." for 6/24 on Blu Ray, yet Paramount, a Blu Ray vet, cannot manage Spiderwick on Blu Ray on the same date (announced today for DVD only it seems).

If Spiderwick is passed by, it would seem we're not getting any big day and date Blu Ray releases from these guys until the fall?

But they want to make the press. It's about making it the big news item that pops up all over the place, and a large POS. For example I fully expect Paramount's return to BLu to be followed with something like BOGO and endcap displays of their existing titles.

They're fighting with Universal for the second to bottom rung on the ladder probably through the end of the year

I must say thank you Bill for your participation on the boards. I look forward as always to your inside information here as well as on the Bits.

I hate to pile on the same type of questions that seem to dominate, but...

I just finished watching American Gangster (Extended). It would be a travesty not to have the Extended version on Blu (Ridley Scott seems to be the king of extended versions). If you have anyone you can influence over at Universal, I beg of you.

well it looks like Universal have showed their hand

Bill - can i ask as you seem to have such a good relationship with Warner - is there any word on Superman Returns being released to retail with the PCM track as it was bundled with Pioneers product last year? Also is there any chance Superman 1/2 would be re released with Losseless sound?

Cheers,
Mick

Bill, you said we'd hear something before may 1st, and again, you are spot on. Thanks for your insight on the matters at hand. And PLEASE tell me every single one of those releases has Lossless audio. PLEASE. VERY excited about the Mummy flicks, those are day 1 purchases for me, if they have Lossless audio.

Bill, now that Universal is on board can you divulge any of the other titles they didn't announce? Also, what are the chances that when they bring titles like The Mummy trilogy to Blu they will have better audio than their HD DVD counterparts? Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 just isn't going to cut it.

Bill,

let me re-ask my question since it got buried in the thread a few pages back, probably because I didn't color your name red

So: Is there anything you can tell us about a Blu-ray release of "Rescue Me: Season 4"? I still have not given up hope that Sony will indeed announce it on that format as well, especially since Amazon.com has a preliminary listing (which doesn't say much, granted).

Or will I really have to switch back to SD after buying season 3 on blu?

Yeah, DD+ 5.1 means no buy for me. Here's hoping

And if it is PCM, PLEASE make sure and specify that its direct from the MASTER and NOT a DD+ to PCM conversion (which would defeat the point and we'd find out anyway!!). THAT would infuriate me more then no lossless. Please make sure they know not to screw around.
