Finally took the time to finish "Another".

It definitely picked up after the dreadfully slow pacing and dragging "reveal" (that still didn't happen until later, but at least the rest picked up) of the mystery, so I enjoyed it overall. Gory, some awesome gruesome deaths and a kind of cool final reveal.

I might consider it if it has a good price on RightStuf's sale.

Heads up to prospective buyers: the art booklet that comes with the Vol. 1 box is held together with metal rivets, and makes a very snug fit inside the box with the two BD cases. This also makes keeping Vol. 2's slipcase inside the box almost impossible, unless you want to practically powerslam your set to remove a volume.

Edit: Oh wow, reversable covers!
Awesome, thanks for the info on the LE, Thomas - My copies of Fam 1 LE & 2 are in the mail right now, along with a copy of the original Last Exile series on DVD. Should have them by early next week... can't wait!

Just didn't gel with you? Or does it get pretty bad? Does it become a generic harem with cats? As I'm sick of generic ecchi/harem crap.
Is there any depth in it whatsoever? Watching it is a like a sugar overdose for my eyes but if the show actually goes somewhere I may still consider it.
No, it's not the first two episodes repeated over and over. New characters are introduced later on to mix it up. It gets better and better.
Nyan Koi didn't gel with me.
AKB0048 has depth to it. The characters are not two dimnsional. I wouldn't describe the show as sugary though. I have not seen the second season, but I've heard the show has a great ending.

If you like Gunslinger Girl, I'd strongly recommend checking out Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom.

Default Viz media announces the return of the classic series ranma ˝ to north america

Great news everyone!!! In Japan, the Blu-ray releases of "Ranma 1/2", "Urusei Yatsura" and "Maison Ikkoku" are being or have been released. So, knock on wood we will hopefully see the other titles released on Blu-ray as well in the near future.

Legendary Martial Arts-Action-Adventure-Comedy Manga Created By Rumiko Takahashi Debuts In 2-in-1 Editions Spring 2014; Anime Launches Today On VIZAnime.com; Neon Alley, Blu-ray And DVD Debuts Coming Soon

San Francisco, CA, September 11, 2013 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), the largest distributor and licensor of manga and anime in North America, has announced the return of one of the genre’s most celebrated manga and anime properties – RANMA ˝.

RANMA ˝ is a renowned martial arts action-adventure manga (graphic novel) series created by Rumiko Takahashi. The manga series was a staple of the VIZ Media catalog for over 14 years and remains one of the company’s longest-running titles and one of the longest-running manga series in North America. VIZ Media plans to begin publishing the RANMA ˝ manga series (rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens) in new 2-in-1 omnibus editions featuring the original right-to-left reading format for the first time ever in early 2014.

VIZ Media today also launches the smash-hit RANMA ˝ (subtitled, rated TV-14) anime series on its VIZAnime.com streaming service as well as on Hulu. The series will debut on its Neon Alley anime channel this fall (dubbed), and will be available on DVD and, for the first time ever, Blu-ray box set editions next year.

To celebrate the return of RANMA ˝, VIZ Media is planning a variety of booth activities and special programming scheduled for the 2013 New York Comic-Con, taking place October 10-13 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. More details will be announced shortly.

I wonder why it went away and if Viz would bring it back. I finally collected all the Manga (volume 18 and 34 are in the mail) and have all Ranma 1/2 on DVD. I don't know if I would buy the BD but I might. I really want Maison Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura more since I was unable to get the first time.

I can't wait bring more classics back

Cowboy Bebop Pt2 Region B has been delayed to Jan. Oh well.

I received Michiko To Hatchin S2 from Rightstuf already, now I just have to wait for Amazon to ship S1 next week sometime.

It'll likely be October. Amazon just put it at the end of the year as a placeholder. Anime Limited already said as much. It's a small delay to fix a video glitch.

Quote:
A few folks have messaged us as the date for Cowboy Bebop BD Part 2 and DVD Complete Collection had changed on Amazon - this is a temporary date set because we had to shift the release date a few weeks due to finding another video capture glitch we wanted to fix. We'll actually have the final masters no later than next week so expect a release actually in October - so a couple of weeks delay max to bring you the best quality product. Not December!

Wasn't going to at first, but I ended up getting GitS Arise, which arrived today. I managed to get two images in my film strip, covering both Kusanagi and Aramaki. It's hard to get a good photo as I don't have a film scanner, but you get the idea.

Thanks for sharing, I want to pre-order Akira and Wolf Children. Is there any other way to get free shipping besides spend $49? My order total is only $41.98 and I don't think there is anything else I am interested in yet.

I've had Akira and Wolf Children on pre-order ever since they went up, so I'm in the same boat as you... I think I'm going to toss in a Maken-Ki pre-order to get mine over $49, as that has the same release date as Akira... Just have to call RS customer service to get another title added to an existing order. Or I could wait a bit and add something cheap in stock, like Phantom: Requiem SAVE, or Vexille, or a DVD title, just before Akira comes available for shipping...

I don't always get Rightstuf's sales...I have had Sankarea LE blu ray pre ordered from them for that exact same price. This goes for the rest of my pre orders with them. I guess Rightstuf's Funimation pre orders are just normally 40% off when listed...
