Still no shipping notices for this yet? thought there would be some by now.Getting mine from DD anyway and as there has been no other postponement they must have copies themselves.

From what I gathered with my phonecall with DD, the signing will be tomorrow, and they have another signing on Saturday. They will begin packaging/processing on Monday/Tuesday.

Yeah, i still think its a tad odd no one who ordered from 1428 have had shipping notices yet if they are to get it by release day though i don't think its too big a deal.I won't get mine here in the uk from DD for about 2 weeks so can't wait to hear some reviews.

man...so there is NO way i see that I'm getting this tomorrow.

Still no shipping notice from me and I ordered from CLM. I just wish it had happened that way.

I would be amazed if anyone who ordered, short of Amazon, will get this by release day. I don't think 1428 had a release day delivery guarantee, did they?
Obviously with the signing the DD orders would be impossible to get on release day, unless you actually attend the event.
As for US retailers: BB, WM, Target, etc...Are they even getting this?

That's right, all the other retailers had the delayed shipping date. Thank you, I forgot about that.

So the only people that will have this "in-hand" tomorrow will be the lucky ones that attend the signing, I suspect.
And that's no fault of 1428. They are a very small company, and don't have the logistical empire that Amazon does. So delays are to be expected, unfortunately, as we've already seen with the first signing attempt.

As for all the DD orders, I would just remain patient, and plan on getting your signed copy toward the end of next week. That's what I'm doing.

I was only thinking of the CLM site orders.I think its fairly logical for those who ordered through them to think that they would get it for the release date especially as its a Friday the 13th release on a friday the 13th.If they have to get stock to DD by tomorrow then at least they should have got some orders out to their customers.Like i said i want those sigs so went through DD.

Yeah i read that too.Look i'm not trying to say this is a big deal,it certainly isn't and i feel most people realised they were not gonna get this on release day,all i am saying is that whatever cost they incur to get their product out to customers will have been factored in to the price beforehand.I am a small business owner myself and i and any others on here will tell you that is standard practice. They will have product in their distribution warehouse now and will have struck a deal with that centre on how many man hours needed to fulfill the orders they have recieved.I can't for a second believe that the warehouse only recieved stock today or tomorrow, look ive gone on too much about a very minor topic but i don.t think its unreasonable for those who ordered throough them to expect delivery on release date.

Some of you are still missing the point of having a 'release day'. No one said - or implied - that you'd have it on release day. Unless you happen to live down the street from 1428 films, lol.

Could they have worked it out so that fans had their copies in-hand on the 13th? Possibly. They could've had the release day a week earlier, on September 6th. However, advertising a Friday the 13th Documentary for release on Friday the 6th doesn't have quite the same punch. Kinda needs that 13th date as a tie-in.

I think its just a case of delays obviously as it was postponed.I think its almost certain they intended these to be shipped a day or 2 before street day thats why it was originally the 27/8.They know people would have wanted to watch this on Friday the 13th,same as why the majority of horror releases come out before halloween not on the 31st of october.

They should just postpone it again till December 6th so fans can have it on Friday, December 13th and all the whining will stop that people aren't getting it on Friday the 13th.

Everytime I look in this thread people are acting surprised shipping hasn't even started and disappointed that it probably won't arrive by the 13th. I never expected to receive it on Friday the 13th once they announced the release date was Friday the 13th when they delayed it. As others and including your self have stated, it's a good idea in theory except that people won't have them in their hands on the 13th. If people don't start getting shipping notices tomorrow then people should start to worry. It just seems a little premature to speculate why they haven't shipped them when the release date isn't even here.

I agree with everything you just said.My only point is that i don't think its unreasonable for some people to think they may have got this on release day. myself, i won't have this for another 2 wks as im in the uk,shame the films arn't called Friday the 27th. my expirience is that the vast majority of companies ship thing early except Amazon but thats because them nobheads wanna charge you for the privilage.Importcds always ship my us orders 2 weeks early so overseas customers aren't waiting.

I'm sure it will show up soon, I just didn't have anything else planned for the next 72 hours.

I agree that they had to assume people would expect this to arrive or at least be shipped out before the 13th. What is the point of a special release date if people
have no way of actually getting it on that date? I think the key problem is information
and communication. The people at 1428 are not really giving out information. Simply
stating that the 13th is the release date is not enough. Tell people what the delay is
and most people will understand. They said they can't guarantee everyone will have it
by friday but I don't know anyone who has even gotten a shipping notice so an explaination is not asking much.

I'm with you on this. Considering this was originally planned for the end of August, that the entire Documentary revolves around the "Friday the 13th" date, and that the official release was meant to be "Friday the 13th" I consider it a let down if the majority of us in the US that pre-ordered back in July don't have this tomorrow. What's the point of claiming the Release date is Friday the 13th if no one can actually purchase it on that date? This won't be in stores until October 8th and it looks like this won't arrive until sometime next week. Pretty big let down in my opinion if this is how things play out.
