NOT TRUE.

I have a Westinghouse 1080p LCD monitor that only has DVI inputs. IT ABSOLUTELY DOES accept and display 1080p signals.

Think of it this way: DVI is the same thing as HDMI, but with a fatter connector and no sound.

To expand further, there are three types of DVI: DVI-D(igital), DVD-A(nalog), and DVD-I(ntegrated). You want DVI-D or DVI-I, which handles both. Because 1080p is only 1920x1080, you don't even need a dual link DVI--single-link goes supports up to 1920x1200.

The key is to make sure that the DVI display device you are using is HDCP compliant, which virtually all of them made withing the past couple of years are.

Just remember DVI is ABSOLUTELY CAPABLE OF 1080p. I am proof of that.
