Just got off the phone with the distributor. The lady who answered said that they are in the process of preparing 2000 more to ship as we speak let alone the ones shipped since Friday, so hopefully a lot more people will be getting emails re: shipments soon. If I remember correctly I believe she said 4000 were pre-ordered roughly and they were "supposed" to get 5000 in stock to fulfill these orders. With that said she wasn't sure whether or not they actually received 5000 to cover the pre-orders or not. I guess it's all wait and see. She didn't confirm that anything would be backordered, but you never know. I guess it's all wait and see. I only ordered mine on Sept. 12th, so I'm not concerned if I have to wait a bit longer to get it as others have been waiting a lot longer.

I'm one of those who also didn't get a shipping notification, but here it is in my hands never-the-less.

Confirmation:
The Blu-ray Discs in this set are region-free (AnyDVD also tells me that the DVD discs, as well as the bonus DVD from the Crystal Lake Memories web site, are also region-free). The main documentary is spread over two BD-50 discs. The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is the main audio, while the DD 2.0 is an audio commentary. 1428 Films have also provided optional English and Spanish subtitles for the main documentary, which are in a large, white font. The audio commentary is not subtitled. On the Blu-ray Discs (and documentary DVDs), the only extra material is a trailer reel on Disc 2, containing trailers for the documentaries Never Sleep Again and More Brains!, as well as a message about Friday the 13th-themed wine from Adrienne King. In English, without subtitles (1080p, 4:38). The Bonus DVD contains over four hours of extended interviews, and has a scene selection option. There are no subtitles for the extended interviews. (480i, 4:20:54). BDInfo scans: Disc One [Show spoiler] Disc Two [Show spoiler]

Yes, it was nice of them to add the DVDs, although I admit to laughing at how mad a lot of people were that it was initially to be BluRay only, particularly those who said they would never own a BluRay player on "principle," but considered themselves real cinephiles.

I know i'm late to the party on this one (I love exclusives - how did I miss this?!), but I had a few questions. I didn't see them answered anywhere in the last 10 or so pages so please forgive me, as i'm sure they've been asked before.
1. Whose autographs are those on the signed versions? 2. Is there any way to get the signed one off the CLM site anymore? I have a feeling that's a dumb question btw. Was that even where they came from, the CLM site? 3. No slipcover?! |

I have a couple movies that have 5 discs where the fifth disc is just a (redeemed) digital copy on disc, so I threw that out and switched the cases.

I picked this up at a horror convention in New Orleans this past weekend. The producer was there selling copies with the bonus dvd that you were supposed to get only with a pre order on the site. I got it on Friday night, and watched it all of the way through. I was very disappointed after viewing because 85% of it is recycled footage from His Name was Jason. This includes stuff from the main feature as well as the extended interviews on both of the disc in that set. I think it also includes stuff they left on the cutting room floor from that doc as well. There is also a huge difference in quality between the 15% of new footage and the 85% of old footage. Yes there is some new information thrown in, but other than that this is a very underwhelming release. I confronted the producer Saturday at the convention about why this was done the way it was done. He just put his head down and ignored me. If you were one of the people that were let down by the features on the box set then this will piss you off and will have you seeing red

Here's the answer to number 1: Daniel Farrands (writer/director) Peter Bracke (author) Luke Rafalowski (editor) Andrew Kasch (editor) Buz Wallick (DP) Michael Perez (production manager) Blake Reigle (production manager) Douglas Tait (Freddy Vs. Jason) Melanie Kinnaman (part 5) Tracie Savage (part 3) Tom McLoughlin (part 6) Thom Mathews (part 6) Nancy McLoughlin (part 6) VC Dupree (part 8) Brooke Scher (part 9) Lee Coleman (part 8) John Carl Buechler (part 7) Darcy DeMoss (part 6) Michael B. Silver (part 9) Julie Michaels (part 9)Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th remake) Harry Manfredini also "popped in" and did a pre-signing for the folks at Dark Delicacies. At one point before the signing you were able to order it from here: http://darkdel.com/ That is no longer the case as the signing was over the weekend and copies were sold out long in advance. |
